I am not currently nor have I ever been an employee or had any business association with Donovan Media in Rockville Centre NY.  Based upon the unprofessional and discourteous manner in which I was treated I will never accept employment nor agree to conduct any business with Donovan Media.

Their disgusting actions are indicative of how little they value their employees, probably mistreat them, too, and undoubtedly indicative of how little they value their clients.

On a recent Saturday I found an ad on my local Craigslist for a Business Development Expert.  Contact Tom at  516-568-7444.  Ad was posted three days earlier on a Wednesday.  Since I was calling on a Saturday I expected to get Tom's voice mail, which I did, and left him a message.

When I received no return call on Monday I followed up with a call on Tuesday.  Alicia answered the phone.  I explained that I had left a vm for Tom on Saturday regarding the job posted on Craigslist.  Without asking me where I was located or how long it would take me to arrive in Rockville Centre Alicia asked me to come into the office that day, 2 hours later,  for the job interview.  She didn't even ask me to e-mail or fax my resume in advance.

Told Alicia I could not make the interview that day on 2 hours short notice.  After some discussion the interview was set up for the following Tuesday.  Still no request for my resume or any evidence of the added value and revenue  I had created for prior employers.

The next day, Wednesday, Alica called me to reschedule the job interview for that Friday.  The following day, Thursday, Alicia called me to reschedule Friday's interview for the following Wednesday.

Given that I had made arrangements to leave my car with my auto mechanic on the following Tuesday night for Wednesday repairs, the evening prior to my job interview, I had planned to take public transportation to the job interview.

Something told me to call Donovan Media on Tuesday to confirm my next day, Wednesday, job interview.  A male who would not give his name answered the phone and told me the position was filled.  Called back 1 hour later and Alicia once again answered the phone.  When I told her I was confirming my job interview for the next day, Wednesday, she told me the position had been filled yesterday, on Monday.

When I asked her why she did not call to inform me and cancel the Wednesday interview she claimed that she had called twice, once on Monday and once that day Tuesday.  However, she acknowledged that she reached my vm both times and that she did not leave a message either time.

To expect a Candidate to be available on 2 hours notice for a job interview is presumptuous and unprofessional.
To repeatedly reschedule a Candidate for a job interview is unprofessional.
To hire somebody without interviewing all scheduled Candidates is unprofessional.
To fail to cancel the job interview is unprofessional.

Don't even want to contemplate what would have transpired had I arrived on Wednesday for my scheduled job interview only to have been told that the position was filled two days earlier and that the firm failed to leave me a message and save me a needless trip.

Fortunately I had not purchased an LIRR ticket in advance so I'm not out any money. Candidates -- do not even consider working for Donovan Media either full time, part time, temp or free lance  Clients -- how an employer treats and values their employees is indicative of what they think of you!
