Ordered Propane for my home using Down East energy, by default this was the tank that came with my home when purchased. Had I known this company was price fixing, unfriendly and stealing from consumers I would have switched. Ordering fuel was no problem, I only use Propane for cooking. However, apon delivering wouldn't you know they need to lock the tank and send a tech out for $104.00. Almost as much as I paid for a measely 25 gallons of fuel. No notice and no option when speaking to customer service. I already paid for the fuel but can't use it until I pay 104 dollars extra pretty much just because. It's two days before Thanksgiving and they were unwilling to help in anyway. Outragous company to do this. No dinner at my house. The nerve they charge this much to "check the tank" is ridiculous. They put you in this spot and give you no recourse. I will be switching when I have the means to do so. In the meantime I have fuel I can't use. They should be reported to the BBB for price gouging. Do no go with Down East Energy.
