Complaint Review: Downtwon Audio

Downtown Audio service is terrible!

ordered furniture from Downtown Audio on October 10, 2000. I was told it would take 4-5 weeks for me to receive this furniture. My American Express Card was billed for
the entire price on Oct. 10th. After about 4 weeks I began calling to check on the order. It was difficult to reach the appropriate contact person and when I did he would tell
me that he was "looking into it..." or that I should be receiving the merchandise within a week or so... Finally, on November 17th I called "Steve" at Downtown Audio and
told him that I was tired of the run around and instructed him to cancel my order and refund me the amount that was charged to my American Express card back on Oct.
10th ($1250.00). He said he would take care of it and that it might take up to 2 weeks for the refund to be processed. After 4 weeks, I began calling Downtown Audio again
because the refund to my American Express card had still not occured. Since then, it has been almost impossible to reach Steve at Downtown Audio and when I leave
messages he does not return my calls. On one occaision I reached Steve and he told me that he would take care of the refund. I asked him to Email me with a
confirmation when it was done. He has not emailed me and my American Express card has not been credited. I have tried repeatedly to reach Steve since then and have
been unsuccessful. I have left him numerous messages requesting him to call me but he has not.
