I ordered a plain jane pool liner form Pooldeals.com on 05/03 (plenty of time to have the pool up and running for Memorial Day) and my credit card was charged on 05/07. The liner was supposed to ship within 1-3 days. As of the 11th there was no change in shipping status so I tried contacting the company through the check your status/contact us link. The site says that they will respond within 24 hours.

After doing this every day for another 25 I still have not received a response. On the 16th I contacted the BBB and they immediately received a response from Charlie Goss, technical support, stating that "We will have our supplier cancel this way overdue order & credit within 72 hours if the order remains unshipped."

I still had not received my liner or a refund by the middle of last week so I contacted the BBB again. They stated that I should give him until the end of the week. As of this past Friday I had still not heard anything so I contacted the BBB again and they were going to contact Charlie Goss again. Prior to making this order I checked the web and fouind no complaints about DPD pools or pooldeals.com. Since then there have been at least 12 pop up. During this time I have been calling the number that Charlie Goss gave the BBB, 1-800-768-1049 ext 104, and have left several messages with no response. I have figured out that this is a one man operation and that ext 104 is the ONLY extension and Charlie Goss' title is "all of the above."

I have no problem with Charlie Goss running his business as a sole proprietor and sole employee, I am one myself, but this is rediculous. He has our money and is not fullfilling his obligation to us as the consumer. I WILL be contacting the NY AG and Consumer Affairs. I hope you file your taxes properly Charlie! You have received a lot of publicity over the past few weeks and from what I have read on here and other sites, I would expect to hear froma news crew soon too. If you would just do the right thing and address teh problem it would get better, burying your head in the sand isn't going to solve it.

A response from Charlie Goss!!

I have FINALLY received a response from DPD Pools/Charlie Goss. I received a reply to an email I sent him last week. See below...

Charlie,

Sticking your head in the sand will not make the problem go away. I have been looking through various sites and your name is everywhere. There are numerous complaints on your company over the past few weeks and they are growing daily. It appears that there weren't too many problems before this month and that you may be having problems with your supplier. As you know, I have contacted the BBB and you have stated to them that you would have my problem resolved within 72 hours, that was 13 days ago. If my issue is not resolved within the next two days I plan to contact the Department of Consumer Affairs as well as the NY AG. I will also be filing complaints with any other state and federal organization that I can. This is in fact an interstate transaction as I live in Virginia therefore the federal government can be involved as well. I have seen that several others intend to follow these steps as well and in fact two have contacted their local news channels for assistance. I am sure that these things would be less than desirable for you and strongly suggest that you stopping hiding from the issues and start resolving them. Feel free to contact me at ***-***-**** and/or at this email address. My order number is ******

Here was his reply...

We have cancelled the order. We do apologize our supplier was not able to fill the order in a timely fashion.

Kind of a let down as far as info goes. I have emailed him back asking about my money but I'm sure that it will take three more weeks to find out about it (about how long it will take for my dispute of the charges to settle on my credit card). What a rip off! I wonder how many people don't even push the issue when he does this to them and don't get their money back.

I have now submitted complaints to the BBB, the FTC, the Department of Consumer Affairs of New York, and the Ney York Attorney Generals Office. I have tried to give Charlie Goss every opportunity to fix this problem but he still has his head in the sand I believe. He is now not responding to the BBB contacts in follow up to his promise of resolution.
