On the morning of January 8, 2019 my husband and I took Chyna in to see Dr. Alan Krause for bloody diarrhea.  Dr. Alan Krause examined Chyna and took some bloodwork and a stool sample.  He also gave Chyna a chem shot which included B12, penicillin and centriane and sent us home with metronidazole and a pro biotic to start Chyna on that day.

We asked Dr. Alan Krause if there were any side effects to the medication and Dr. Alan Krause told us no just an increase with her water intake.  So we paid our bill and took Chyna home and started her on the medication that day.

For the next 5 days Chyna experienced side effects such as diarrhea, panting, dark urine, very little appetite, drinking alot of water, making grunting sounds when she ate or drank anything and having trouble walking.

On Tuesday January 9, 2019 we received an email from Dr. Alan Krause letting us know that Chyna's stool sample came back negative and that her bloodwork showed elevation in her liver enzymes which he said he wasn't worried about and that it can indicate liver disease or pancreatitis which he never tested her for.

On Friday morning January 11, 2019 I called Dr. Alan Krause's office and spoke to Hanna and told Hanna how Chyna was doing.  Hanna told me to give the medication a chance to work in Chyna's system and if she is not better by Monday morning to bring her back in for further testing.

Chyna threw up on the morning of January 13, 2019 and her labored breathing started and I sent an email to Dr. Alan Krause letting him know what was going on with Chyna.  We took Chyna to the emergency vet and as we pulled up in front of the emergency vet Chyna passed away.

Dr. Alan Krause never answered my email until that night when Chyna was gone.  I have read that metronidazole is toxic to animals and isn't even approved by the FDA for animal use.  I have also read that if any animal or human have an elevation in liver enzymes, liver disease or pancreatitis they should not be given metronidazole.

Dr. Alan Krause knew that Chyna's liver enzymes were elevated so why would he put her on the medication?  This is veterinary malpractice and negligence done by Dr. Alan Krause.  We trusted Dr. Alan Krause to take care of Chyna and paid him to help her get better not to kill her.
