I have been sick from mold on my job as an elementary school teacher. The mold was in my classroom, my team teacher developed cancer of the sinuses and I developed cancer on my face we were both very sick with memory loss,  fatigue, nose bleeds and many other symptoms. The hospital never heard about being sick from mold except allergies. I found Dr. Lieberman online,. His office said he was one of the leading Mold Drs in the world. I was very excited about seeing him. He offered a one week mold Detoxification program for $16,000.00, I was so desperate I took the money out of my retirement fund and so did my team teacher. After one week neither one of us improved, both of us never improved. Dr. Lieberman would not take any of our calls, and we have never heard back from his since he stole our money. This man prays upon the sick and desperate stealing their money Whatever you do don’t even let this man pet your cat he is a thief hiding behind an MD degree.

First of all when you are sick you should keep excellent records! If you had you would remember it takes over one year to clear your body of molds! This company of doctors saved my sisters life 15 years ago! Reconsider the falsification you made like its only 11,000 for 4 weeks or so barring any other fees! Dont ruin this company because you didnt follow instructions! The end

This teacher is incorrect with all comments about Dr Lieberman and the COEM in Charleston, SC.

I was a patient there, along with other members of my family for problems of mold that were devastaing to our health.

They do charge $12,500 BUT that is for the cost of a full month program of 4 weeks. If she went for 1 week her fee would have been about $2-3,000, depending on how severe her allergies were and how aggresive she wanted to get with her treatment.

Unfortunatley these women did not get the enough treatment and no one EVER leaves there being completely healed. It is just a jumpstart to get you going and you continue to biodetox the mold out of your system at home after you leave. If These doctors are highly trained fellows in environmental medicine- some of the only in the country and they dont take insurance because it is not widely accepted yet at a big enough problem.

If this lady knew my story she would not be so upset. The COEM only wants to help and yes they do it for a fee. Who doesn't. I have never felt taken advantage if however and have been a PT for over a year for mold treatment.

The Reality and the Truth

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

Wed, July 15, 2015

To anyone who may read the above claim:

The Center for Occupaitonal & Environmental Medicine, in business for 37 years now, and Dr. Lieberman, practicing for 55 years now, are held in high regard for our success in treating chronically ill patients and difficult to treat illnesses.

Our concern is that several things mentioned in this report bare no resemblance to the truth or reality of how this office works.

1. Our Biodetoxification Program is a 4-week Program in general.

2. A person does not get sick overnight and we never promise anyone that they will be back to perfect health and especially not in one week!

3. Prior to 2015, which is when the supposed reviewer would have sought treatment, the cost of the four week 8 hour a day intensive program was $8500 for a full four weeks. The highest it went was $9600. Today the program in 2015 is $11000 for the four-week intensive program.

It is impossible that a single patient would have paid $16000 and that too for one week of treatment.

4. While we are a fee for service practice and we do request payment upfront for this intensive program in advance of starting the program, funds are used against actual charges each day. Every person's requirements are a bit different. At the end of the program or at the end of however long the person stays in the program if not for a full four or more weeks, any remaining funds are automatically refunded.

WE DO NOT CHARGE OR TAKE FUNDS FOR ANY SERVICES WHICH ARE NOT RENDERED. PERIOD.

5. There is an encounter form / charge sheet which represents any services provided on a given day to a patient. There is nothing arbitrary about this.

6. Patients are counsled prior to starting this program that if they are going into the program they are at a level of health which requires intensive treatment and it will take time to see improvements. Most patients start to see improvements in a meaningful way only in the 3rd week of treatment and this is spelled out in the orientation of the program at the start.

7. Til date, and we have been providing this service since 1987, patients have had an overwhelming success from this program if they follow the program as prescribed. Sometimes people have the idea they will pick and choose what elements of the program they will do. This does not yield the best results and is against advice.

We respectfully request the person posting these nefarious comments to produce evidence of the charges they paid for and details about the program.

8. We employ multiple staff in addition to doctors who regularly check in wiith patients. The entire program is supervised continuously. The patients see the doctor informally a number of times during the week and formally at a minimum 30-minute appointment every week to review the progress of the week and program to date.

9. We do our best to interact with patients while in the program, once they go home, and even after hours if required. We have a live answering service and there would be records if the person posting made calls to the office which went unanswered.

10. Dr. Lieberman is world reknowned and has been honored by the State of South Carolina as well as in mentions in various media. Patients come from all over the world for treatment and we have thousands of success stories.

We kindly request anyone who reads this report to consider there are always two sides to any story. We can stand behind our statements and we demand that the person who posted the report produce evidence to support the supposed claims they make. Otherwise, this is just slander with no basis.

Thank you for considering our point of view. We are happy to take a call from any current, past, or even potential patient in regards to the practice in general and - or this program and stand behind our work 100%.

It is ironic that this person claims they would not even let us pet her cat. Many local and regional doctors themselves come here for treatment. They could have the best of care anywhere, and they trust and respect our process and treatment protocols and especially our doctors.

Yours in Health,

COEM
