Dr. Fendrich, Cosmetic Dentistry Dr.Lawrence Fendrich, DMD Cosmetic Dentistry He is not only a bad dentist, but he is also a bad man Lighthouse Point Florida
Came to see Dr. Fenrich after a stroke, and although my teeth were fine, my concern was paradontal. My medication at the time was still very potent, and I explained my doctors recommendation to keep a close watch on the arteries in question due to possible drainage. Dr. Fendrich understood and smiled and charged me fifty thousand dollars, he also thought signing a possible document for future work would be necessary. The loan app. was submitted immediately and I was charged 18,000.00 on my credit card.
he pulled my teeth, he replaced the same bridge three times. He told me that drainage into the heart was ridiculous, he gave me an overbite, my teeth are bleeding cont. The overbite is so severe I can not sleep with my mouth closed.
One of my visits, he sat with me for 20 minutes and told he had know idea what to do, later I found the bill indicated he did all sorts of things.
My check bones have altered and my face looks like it collapsed from lack of support, due to the fact that four teeth were pulled but never replaced. His initial replacement for my front teeth was yellow. I did not know I needed replacements, It is a horrible process to walk thru a door have somone do things in your mouth, that were uncalled for and the appearance was detestable. More then that, it was unnecessary. He indicated he had the same overbite and it should please me. He wants another ten thousand to finish. The man scares me to death, he has a collector in the front office who is large both in hight and in weight, and his comments are "you know how I do not like to do this myself" mortgage your house why don't you. I am seventy years old, and the last thing in this world I did not need was to have someone steal the little savings I had. His dental assistant, has to be by-polar, she SNEAKS, and stares at people from behind poles.. They both are in agreement and support each others peculiar behaviour. The entire process will have to be corrected via another dentist, with replacement of four teeth, etcc. and more money. Since I can not pay the payments to the Bank for the 18,000.00 my credit is a total disaster, like a domino effect. My stays in the hospital several times did not create a fluent financial position.
I am so upset, and to think, I may have to go thru this with someone. else.
I want my money refunded, and he must pay a dentist of my choice for the corrected work necessary, so that I will not be ashamed to smile again. This may be a matter of pride, but I have always had a smile I thought was nice. Now it is a mess, with an overbite no less, and a mouth I can not close.
I know it is all about MONEY, but do a good job and earn it. So that you dont have a collector at the front desk to assure payments.
If you like Pier One decorations in your dental office, you found the right dentist.
PS: He has a young Perodontist in his office, but what good is that since the man does what ever Fendrich tells him to do.
Thanks,

I THINK THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS IS TWO YEARS BUT YOU NEED TO CHECK WITH A MEDICAL MALPRACTICE ATTORNEY IN YOUR STATE. SINCE HERE, MEDICAL AND DENTAL ARE CONSIDERED SEPARATE, YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THE ATTORNEY CAN DO A DENTAL MALPRACTICE SUIT.
IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH YOUR GUMS, MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE TO A DENTIST WHO SPECIALIZED IN THE TREATMENT OF GUM DISEASE AND NOT COSMETIC DENTISTRY...
IT IS LIKE EXPECTING A PLASTIC SURGEON TO TREAT A HEART PROBLEM OR A FLUID RETENTION PROBLEM...
DIFFERENT SPECIALITIES, DIFFERENT AREAS OF EXPERTISE!
IN MY OPINION, THE ONLY REASON YOU GO TO A COSMETIC DENTIST IS TO GET YOUR TEETH CAPPED AND EVENED UP AND TO BE WHITENED -- TO HAVE MOVIE STAR LOOKING TEETH...
SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAD SERIOUS GUM DISEASE ISSUES AND THIS NECESSITATED A SPECIALIST TO WHICH THIS COSMETIC DENTIST SHOULD HAVE REFERRED YOU INSTEAD OF TRYING TO DO THE WORK HIMSELF.
THIS SOUNDED WAY TOO SERIOUS FOR EVEN A GENERAL DENTIST.
I WOULDN'T BLAME IT ALL ON THE DENTIST BUT HE WASN'T ENTIRELY INNOCENT EITHER.
GO SEE A LAWYER ASAP!

This is a sad story. The patient believes she was wronged whether she was or not. She states she is a 70 year old stroke victim. Her stroke could be affecting how she feels and thinks.
Good luck to both of you. I hope you can work something out.

This is rediculous and I can't believe this website gives this person a forum for telling lies

What can I say about a patient that doesn't make any sense and blames me for her financial problems and for her bank foreclosing on her home?
Did our office force her to sign anything? Did our office force her to restore her decayed and diseased mouth? Did our office force her to spend money to fix her huge dental problems? Of course not... and no one believes that to be the case.
See a few of her BEFORE and AFTER photos at:
www.LHPDENTAL.com/complaint
I've successfully cared for and treated tens of thousands of patients over the past 29 years of my career AND NOT ONE has ever said one negative thing about me. I think that says far more about the truth of this matter than the rediculous rantings and ravings of an overly bitter person that has been caught up in the economic problems of our country by overextending herself through the use of credit.
Do I have any apologies for charging for my services?... No, I don't. Why? Because I clearly, precisely and completely lay out the entire treatment plan AND the financial commitments of the care BEFORE we do one thing for a patient that has significant dental problems- like this person did. That way I avoid (until now) any misunderstandings about the care to be delivered and the financial considerations of that care. We present the care needed and the fees associated with that proposed care- in a clear and WRITTEN format- and in a very non-judgmental way do whatever it is that the patient requests of us.
I always present at least 2 different courses of treatment. In this person's case, the choices were either permanent, non-removable teeth or removable teeth. In fact, this person clearly stated to me (as recorded on her patient notes) that her biggest fear was having to go into a hospital and having to remove her teeth. So she elected a course of treatment that included dental implants to replace her missing and decayed teeth and then placing permanent, non-removable crowns and bridges.
Remember, this was her choice-- the patient's choice- not mine.
Is it expensive to replace or repair almost every tooth in ones mouth? Yes, it is. Any dentist will tell you so.
We had no problems with this person (who still owes us over $9,500) until she made NUMEROUS promises to pay her balance and they ALL WENT UNPAID. Now we know that she apparently got further and further behind on her financial commitments to banks and lending institutions..., ALL OF A SUDDEN myself and my practice became the bad guys and the reason behind all of her problems.
REMEMBER, that everything we did on this patient was elective.. Meaning that SHE ELECTED to have them done... We never forced, coerced or demanded that anything be done. We simply presented various treatment options and she chose the option that suited her needs.
Other points of note-
1. The patient came to see us BEFORE she had any medical conditions. Her health history, that was completed by her at her first visit with us, lists NO SIGNIFICANT MEDICAL problems and her health problems began almost ONE YEAR AFTER WE BEGAN treatment.
2. I have a GREAT STAFF and this patient knows it. We cared for, comforted and took great care of her throughout her course of treatment. From hand-holding to calls at night to check on her, we provided nothing but the VERY BEST care and concern.
3. After the patient's outrageous claims against me, she went to see a periodontist and this specialist called me up after her visit and stated to me that he couldn't believe that she was complaining about anything that we did. He stated that the implants were well integrated and the crowns and bridges looked beautiful. He couldn't understand what the patient's complaint was... other than her owing us the balance due.
I remain available, as always, to answer any persons comments or questions about any dental or related oral health care matter.
Cordially,
