Dr Horton Americas Home Builder poor Construction, bad customer service broken microwave been 60 days after escrow still problems ripoff Carlsbad California Nationwide
I Moved in to my Vista Del lago Town home by Dr horton On July 2 2006. On June 28th we had our Final walk through. At the time of the walk through there was no A/C nor was the gas hooked up. Dr horton was rushing us to move in. Through our walk through we found so many major problems that are still not fix to this day. I am going to list the problems for you room for room and the results to this day
Our outside light has a electrical issue, it's always flickering on and off, this was suppose to be fixed. It still flashes to this day. Then we entered the living room/entertainment room. This room is where our T.V is to go. The entertainment unit that's built in the wall is out of square. This was brought to the builders attention 3 weeks prior to moving in. Did they fix it? "No". I moved in and it's still crooked.
Finally after 1 month, and tearing apart my living room, lifting the carbet up, and walking with boots on my new carpet it's fixed. That was a nightmare. Every window sill is poorly surfaced. I can't beleive that passed inspection. Our fire place was never hooked up, we had to call about that. Our balconey was missing a rain gutter, this was attempted to be installed, and looks like horrible. Our closet in the master bedroom had two shades of paint. the microwave never has worked, and Now I have to contact whirlpool. Garage door was bent. There's more but these are the major problems I seen when I was doing my walk through
To this day only a few things have been fixed. This is only because we called everyday. I would never buy a Dr horton Home ever again. There customer service is terrible. Trying to get your brand New home up to New standards was a headache. I purchased a new home, Not a fixer upper. The sales office people treat you so great, until you close escrow. Now I am stuck swearing, missing work living in a home that has more problems than a math book.
Please consider not buying a Dr Horton Home. I will never move into a home until it's 100% finished and the water. gas and electricity is all working. Please take my advice and remeber these thing.
DR Horton is a rip off. Lake elsinore california Vista Del Lago.
