It took me a while to be able to discuss what happened to me. I was a patient at Rosh Maternal Fetal Medicine, I was originally a patient of Dr. Migotsky at the 67th st location. But because I was 8weeks pregnant and the in competent doctor John Migotsky and in competent staff couldn't find my pregnancy, after weeks of them saying oh come back it's too small Oh come back your pregnancy is too small. They finally sent me to the downtown office on Madison Avenue. After about 3weeks they finally saw the pregnancy it was an abnormal pregnancy that was in my tube the whole time my life had been in danger.

So much danger that they immediately rushed me to the emergency room because they said if The pregnancy erupted in my tube I could die. I met with Dr. Ira Jaffe Who would perform the life or death surgery but not until the next day because he had a party to attend that evening I was to be watched in the emergency room on loads of morphine from the pain. Finally the next day at around 6 PM dr. Ira Jaffe shows up to use me as a lab rat while a newbie understudy would perform the surgery. I became very upset and I said I do not want anyone practicing on me when I'm in a life-and-death situation he became very angry and told me NYU Langone as a teaching hospital

I was in danger of my life and this doctor went to a party shows up the next day in the evening and isn't even the one that's going to perform the surgery he just wants to oversee it. He finally agreed to do it himself , leaving me with the ugly scars imaginable. Still to this day I'm not sure who did the surgery when I woke up from the anesthesia he never even came over to see how I was doing he never called after I complained the next day as a matter fact I've never heard from him again. He is unkind and has left scars that keloid. Please beware of this facility and it's faculty

I remember these events very well. While I can empathize with someone who experienced a frightening medical emergency, this patient was angry and at times irrational. As is the case with any doctor, my number one priority is ensuring that my patients are safe. When this patient came to the hospital, she was medically stable. At the time, I had just completed a 36 hour shift and was extremely fatigued. Because of this, I did not believe that it would be safe for me to perform her surgery at that time and not so critical that it required transferring her care to another surgeon. I did not go to a party; I got some necessary rest so that I could operate safely.

After she met the senior resident, patient became agitated and said that she did not want the resident in operating room. As a result, I explained to her that her operation required an assistant surgeon and secured the assistance of another resident, thereby honoring her request. We performed the appropriate procedure, protecting her from a potentially fatal condition. My interaction with this patient required a great deal of patience and compassion. I'm sorry that she came away with such a bitter interpretation of the events, but given her demeanor while caring for her, I'm not entirely surprised. The bottom line is that she was treated with respect and was treated safely and effectively.
