Complaint Review: Dr. John B. Cher Parkside Surgery Institute

Dr. John B. Cher performed surgery to remove my tonsils because I have a condition called diverticula, which basically is when there is a pocket in the throat and the food particles get stuck. Dr. Cher either misdiagnosed me or thought this surgery will fix the problem. 3 months after surgery the issue is still there, I call and he says wait 6 months. 6 months later I call and he says wait one year. I wait one year and the issue is not fixed. After one year it was too late to sue him as statue of limitation in CA is one year to sue someone. 

This was not the only issue I have had with him. My wife also went in for breast augmentation and he failed to do a pregnancy test prior to anesthesia. While my wife was under anesthesia the pregnancy test results come back positive. The nurse comes out and asks me if we want to postpone the surgery until a second test is done. Well at this point it is too late, because what difference would it make if already anesthesia was prescribed? Thank God my wife gave birth to a healthy boy (our first kid), otherwise Dr. Cher would have been in big trouble. What a way to find out I was going to be a dad!

Finally, my sister in law went in for a breast augmenation and the results were horible! there were major scars on the niples that did not go away from what I have been told (as obviulsy I did not see it in person). She had to go to another surgeon to fix it, but it was so bad, the other surgeon could only mimize the scars a little. My poor sister in-law was embarrassed to date anyone for years!

Dr John B. Cher also has had 3 disciplinary actions and temporary license suspensions against him for felonies and malpractice. Check the CA Medical Board website.One of them was in 2008 around the time of my incident. See link here:
