Avoid this man at all costs! Read my sad story and them make a decision weather you should trust your beauty to this man or not. A few years back I had a laser procedure done on my face that promised to shrink my pores and renew my facial skin. I still remember me feeling very uncomfortable the first day of my procedure because while Dr. Tachmes was performing the procedure on my face he was directed by some man next to him, telling him how to do it and what to do, I didn't know who it was until later, at first I thought maybe it was another doctor? But my gut was telling me there was something wrong? Later I found out that that man was a man who worked for a company that rents that type of laser equipment and I personally saw him rolling down the machine off of Dr. Tachmes office. So go figure! This so called Dr. knew nothing about this laser and yet sacrificed my face for it to learn on me? I wasn't there for some kind of study or was given a discount for being a guinea pig, he ripped me off more that other plastic surgeons would have for the same procedure, $1500 a session! Sure enough, after that same procedure, the next morning I woke up, I got a disgusting thing on my forehead, it was about 2 inches in diameter and oozing a clear liquid. I got so scared I called the office and they rushed me in the office. Dr. Tachmes made it look like it wasn't a big deal and like it happens all the time, and said that it was a herpes! How the heck can you get a herpes on your forehead? Ask Dr. Tachmes because somehow he found a way to give it to me. But you know what's worse? Is that at that time, when I did that procedure, I had no insurance and I was saving like crazy to save up for that procedure, and Dr. Tachmes made me pay for all herpes medications which were hundreds of dollars. If I'm not mistaken I have spent $600 plus just on medications, the doctor refused to help in any way. I was young and naive and new to America so I didn't know better, that same person who recommended him to me, later was in shock and told me I should have sued him! Neither doctor nor her assistant did not bother to call me even once to find out how am I doing? But with no shame at all, his assistant called me after like 2 weeks asking me when would I like to schedule my next procedure? Disgusting people, I went thru so much stress, I remember I was crying all days because I was in emotional stress worried this could leave me a scar on my face. Also, later when I did research, I found out that before that particular laser procedure doctors must prescribe anti-herpes medication and it should be taken for 3 days before you can start the procedure which I'm sure this bright man did not learn in school. I'm so disgusted by this man so much, by the way, if you are good with people, you will have that very uncomfortable feeling around him, his face is very unpleasant he looks like a fox so cunning and cheating, I should have listened to my guts but instead I decided to trust to my friend who said that knew him. Ironically that same friend did the same procedure years later, except he went to another doctor !

This individual posted an awful and blantantly false reveiw this past May about a procedure he/she underwent in my clinic a "few years ago." Strange, why someone would wait three years to do that. Since this individual did not identify himself or herself, I have no means of verifying the story. But this is what gives these people the power to write lies and mean things about another public individual on the internet and hurt their professions and mislead and scare other future patients.
This individual most likely underwent a Fraxel laser resurfacing treatment. Prior to the treatment she/he read and signed a procedure consent form that explained the methods in detail. All of the questions were answered and the patient agreed to proceed with the treatment.
Prior to the treatment, I had significant experience with laser resurfacing methods and had performed dozens and dozens of such treatments. On that particular day, we had the rep from the laser company with us and was observing our work. The rep was not teaching me how to do the procedure.
The majority of patients treated with resurfacing lasers do not develop post op herpes reactions on the skin and these individuals are not given medication prior to treatment unless they state they have a history of herpes breakouts on the skin from previous treatments. This patient never mentioned any history of such. The description of a 2 inch lesion on the forehead is also false. Herpes lesions are small 2-3mm papules not 2 inches. Again, false and misleading instilling fear and creating a terrible picture of what actually happened. This patient was properly treated with anti-viral medications and had a normal and uneventful recovery.
The slander, insults and other horrible things this person said about me is disturbing. I have been a plastic surgeon in miami for over 22 years. And before that a surgical resident and medical student for over 12 years in Philadelphia, Chicago and New York. I have taken care of thousands of patients in every possible environment and situation. Doctors are humans just like their patients. The deterioration of the doctor-patient relationship is a very sad occurrence in our modern society. Thankfully, only a minority of rude and ignorant individuals behave in this manner. Our practice works very hard every day to treat all patients with respect and dignity.
