I received a letter dated 4th April 2007 stating that I had won 615,810.00 euros from the Spanish Lottery El Gordo, after having lived in Spain for 9 years I decided to phone as I speak fluent spanish and also suspected this to be a scam.
I was answered by an african male who then asked me to give my confirmation code and batch number, I did this and he then asked me to send all my details by fax at this point he asked did I speak English as he was struggling with his Spanish, I then told him I would not send my Bank Acc Number to anyone at this he answered we will send you a cheque but I still needed to send my details.
At this point I told him I knew this to be a con and he got very abrupt and ignorant saying why are you calling if you know this to be a con I then told him I was going to check this on the internet and he got very angry.
I advise people notto be fooled by these people.
