SCAM ALERT!!!

Puppy Scammer from Cameroon.....

I had recently posted a Wanted Ad on Craigslist (locally) requesting contact should someone have a pure-bred Labrador Retriever puppy for sale. I was contacted by a Dr. Mary Greenwood (age 45). She stated that she had a puppy (AKC Registered Chocolate Lab) that she needed to find a new home for because she was serving on the UN Malaria Committee in Cameroon. She stated that because of US regulation regarding the transportation of pets overseas that she would need to find a new home for the dog within two-weeks. She also stated she was originally from California and had received the puppy as a gift from her father before he died. 

She was very persistent and wanted to make sure the puppy was going to a good loving home.  She also wanted to make sure I would send her pictures of the puppy from time to time. She stated money wasn't an issue because she needed to make sure the puppy would make it back to the states within that 2 week time frame. She stated that all I would need to do is pay the airline directly for the crate, which would be around $120.00. 

I was skeptical at first and at the end when I received an email from Kenya Airlines (which was a bit fishy) I decided to look into it a bit more. I discovered that his alias has been used to lure people to send money for a crate for a variety of dogs.

** Key things to watch are the price (notice it increased)
** Receiver Name, it should have been to airline not FONGWE RAMAH BIH

Luckily I never sent any money. I researched, only to find out this is in fact a scam. I was contacted via a local ad on craigslist. These scammers are everywhere and will try to hurt good people. Protect yourself.
