This is my personal story. Everything contained in this narration is true & factual & based on actual events as of the date of this posting.

I used this company (Dallas based Dr. Move) because they were insured, bonded, & registered. I thought this was a reputable company, but it appears they don't stand behind their contract. I know my rights & they have not acted in good faith per their moving contract.

It's was a simple thing. All they needed to do was fix the TV set that they broke in the move. Instead of acting in good faith, they eventually sent out a non-electrician (one of the same movers) & now I have no idea if the set can be fixed at all or how much it will cost. I have no idea how much further damage has occured by their actions.

For almost 4 months now, I have followed their so-called claims process. They don't send forms. They don't return phone calls or emails. Everyone in charge is supposidly "off-site". I had to literally call & leave messages on a daily basis in the morning & afternoon. Finally after 2.5 mths, they said they'd send an accessor out to look at the problem, but he was the same guy who broke the TV set!

Here's the whole story:

The movers broke the cable connector on the back of my 32" TV. This is used to connect the cable wire from the cable box. I couldn't hook up my cable, so no picture.

That night, after everything was moved in, the 3 movers (this reminds me of Larry, Curley, & Mo) took off the back of the TV & poked around. They decided to go to an electronics store "R S" & ask them what to do. They bought a part, took off the back of the set again, but there's no where to screw it in. Since none of them had electronics experience, they didn't know what to do. The head of the crew kept trying to make ME feel guilty saying the company would dock his paycheck if a claim was filed. Since it couldnt be fixed, they left.

After 2.5 months, they finally said they'd send out an "accessor". I took off a morning from work right before Thanksgiving for their appt. time & they arrived an hour late. OMG! It was two of the same movers! There was no accessor! They brought with them a 5th grade welder like the ones our kids used in grade school shop class!!! They took the part they bought at RS & welded it inside the TV set in the general area that the part would poke out the back of the set!!! I kept asking ... did you talk with someone about this? Do you know what you're doing now? This all happened very fast & they wouldn't answer me.

When the welding was done minutes later, they hooked up the cable wire. There was a light connection. The picture was complete snowy. You couldn't see a thing. I stated my disappointment, but appreciation for trying.

I couldn't believe what happened next! The main guy kept saying over and over again to me ... I know what YOU are trying to do. He also said several times .... You got some sort of picture. This is good enough. I know what you're trying to do.

I was infuriated by this disrepect in my home & his insinuations. I told him to immeidately get out. He refused!!!! (the other guy left). The main guy said to me ... I'll get out when I'm finished.

I was scared at this point. I threatened to call the police, raised my voice, & cursed in an effort to get him out. He finally left while cursing me outside of my home calling me an "f---ing b--ch".

At this point I contacted the Dr. Move main office in tears about what happened. I couldn't believe they would send a non-electrician out to handle this type of job. They said they would send more forms.

I've received no forms.
No phone calls or emails from anyone.

What's happening now 4 months later:

I can't afford to get it fixed myself right now. In fact, the TV set is 120 pounds & I can't even lift it to take it anywhere to even get it fixed. My kids don't have a TV set in the living room to watch TV, play games, etc.

No one from the Dr. Move company has sent any forms, emails, or called me regarding this situation.

Recommendation:

You can probably guess what I'm thinking .....

One More Thing:

If this company finally makes good to fix my TV set to its proper working condition, I will add a rebuttal comment and update this RipOff Report stating so.
