Dr. Stephan Gibbs DDS Balance billed after full payment by Insurance company Sant Fe New Mexico
Two years ago after relocating back to Santa Fe from Maine I was looking for a dentist. A neighbor recommended Dr. Gibbs. My visit went well, basic cleaning, exam and x-rays. I was insured by Delta Dental for full coverage of the visit. A month later I received a $50 bill which I immediately disputed since this was an illegal balance billing. Dr. Gibbs office manager refused to remove the bill after many letters and phone calls from me. Then they filed it on my credit report which is totally unacceptable.
This is an unfortunate bad business practice that apparently many medical doctors engage in to get more money. People need to be made aware that Dr. Gibbs will take unethical financial advantage of you.
