I've had a personal experience with this company. Yes, there is retail involved, but that seems to be their main focus. I will admit that the doctors do proper examination, but as soon as you step onto the retail floor to pick out glasses HIDE YOUR WALLET!

This company is so money hungry. The head desk riders at the corporate office tell the staff to tell patients, that the doctor recommeded lens treatments, even if the doctor didn't. These lens treatments are costly! Example: Crizal anti-reflective coating costs $100.00, and basic anti-reflective coating costs $60.00 extra. That does not include the price of your lenses and frames.

Honestly, I think that there is no difference between the effectiveness of the two, that's my opinion. I've seen a person wait over a month for their glasses with Crizal.

If you ever go there, do ask for a break down on what you're buying, I've seen an employee charge people for the basic anti-reflective coating even though it was'nt asked for. Also remember to ask where prices start on materials, they can rip you off!!

#2Consumer Suggestion

Been Shopped,
I know exactly where you are coming from. My husband has worked in the Optical profession for more then 20 years and after seeing the politics involved in this business, he finally decided to open his own office. After reading about your frustrating experience, I called him immediately. He was appalled you paid $100 for A/R coating for Crizal. Thats extremely high even for them. $60 for scratch coating is pricey as well. My advice to you is this. Shop around for your eyewear. Treat the purchase as you would if you were buying a cell phone. Compare prices and plans. I know Doctor's pressure patient's into buying their products form their office. They must give you a written prescription for glasses. Take it with you and call around or go to different stores and compare. My husband has a website and a store(Office). He receives glasses from all over the world. You purchase frames and send them to us, we will put lenses in you frames and even with all the extras, you will pay a lot less. My suggestion is that you go to our website www.wohloptics.com, shoot my husband an email with what you ended up paying for your total purchase, he will give you the cost of what we would have charged you and then you will see just how important shopping around is. My heart goes out to you in a big way. I see it everyday, Patients come in and cannot believe they paid $450 for a pair of glasses at LensCrafters and only $200 at Wohl Optics. If you are in need of repair's, nose pads, temple covers etc., will can help. am sorry you had such a lousy experience, not all optical providers are money hungry.
