Dr.Yallapragada Extortion North Charleston, South Carolina
I was under a FMLA ( medical leave of absence) for my job in 2009. I was under Dr. Yallapragadas care during this time. It is standard procedure for the doctor to fill out the patients FMLA paperwork so the patient can then return to work.
Upon presentation of my paperwork to Dr. Yallapragada he informed me that I could return to work in a couple of weeks, however he would be charging me a fee to fill out the paperwork. This wasn't shocking to me doctors have charged fees in similar situations to my friends and family members.
What was shocking was the price that he quoted me. I had two papers in total Dr. Yallapragada informed me that he would need $250.00 per page for a total of $500.00 dollars for him to fill out the FMLA paperwork. Not only did I need the paperwork filled out to excuse my absence from work but I wasn't allowed to return to work without it.
In turn I lost a very good job with benefits and have been unemployed ever since. I urge everyone considering going to this doctor or using him now to find another MD you never know when hell try to chargeyou $500.00 to write on a piece of paper.
