Drain Source Drain Service Ltd., Vince Forgione, took our money and left us with an unfinished shower floor that can't be used and has ignored all of our phone calls. Woodbridge Ontario
My husband and I had a company called Drain Source Drain Service Ltd. do some plumbing work for us which included ripping up the shower floor in our downstairs bathroom in order to replace a pipe and the drain. The work was started Aug26/08, and the shower floor has still not been completed.
This work began Aug26/08 with the removal of the shower floor, installation of a new drain pipe, installation of a pedestal sink and faucet that we already had purchased, and replacement of our kitchen faucet. The re-cementing of the shower floor was completed on August 27/08 (by Vince). My husband paid $2000.00 cash to Vince Forgione (the Estimator/Project Co-coordinator according to his business card) (I know, we're idiots) on Aug26/08, and our job is not complete.
Needless to say, we have made dozens of phone calls and have had more than 6 appointments missed by the person who is supposed to tile the floor (not Vince, but his tiler). Vince only returned one of our calls in early September to say that the tile person had had a death in the family but would be at our house on a certain date I have all of the dates documented.
You can never actually get in touch with Vince his 2 office numbers are not Drain Source but people who apparently page him. The cell number is a woman's voice that says you've reached Drain Source and you can leave a message, but the call is never returned.
We just want to get the job finished since we have paid in full for work which INCLUDED replacing the tiles (this is written on the invoice) on the shower floor so that we can actually use it. We're really nice and trusting people (our obvious downfall) and we're not only being treated with the utmost rudeness, but we're being ripped off too.

Another update:
On Dec. 12, Vince did pay us the $300 we agreed to to resolve this matter. We give Vince credit for following through on this reimbursement.
While this doesn't make us whole-- we paid $600 to someone else to have the job completed-- it is what we agreed to. For my part, it was simply expedient to accept the lesser amount, as litigating this was not an attractive option. We consider the matter closed.

A few updates to provide since the original report was filed:
1) We placed a total of 17 calls to Vince Forgione's answering service in August and September, 2008 asking if he intended to complete the job we paid him to do. None of these calls was returned. The person answering the phones assured us in each case that she was paging Vince.
2) We filed a BBB report on Drain Source on Sept. 23. BBB forwarded our complaint to Drain Source the same day, and sent a second notice when the company had not responded by Oct. 13. They also faxed our complaint on Nov. 6. Drain Source did not respond to any of these.
3) Believing we would never hear from Vince again, we paid another contractor $600 to tile the shower floor. This was done Nov. 22. Following this, we called Vince's number and left him a message to call us. To our surprise, he did. We told him that we had paid someone else to finish the job he started and we wanted him to reimburse us for $600. He refused, saying we overpaid and that it was no more than a $300 job. We argued the point for awhile, then I told Vince that if he reimbursed us for $300 we would consider the matter closed. He said he would come over Friday, Nov. 28 with the money.
He didn't keep his word, of course, and he has stopped returning our calls.
