I was getting some gas when a green truck pulled to the opposite side of me and a young man about 22-26 asked if I was interested in buying some surround sound systems. Another man about 35-40 walked around the truck and opened his trunk and there were two sets of Genesis surround sound systems and a set of tower speakers. He gave me his name, Jody Miller, and said they worked for a company called Dream Audio Works and that they had 2 extra sets of systems that they were willing to sell.

He was wearing a Dream Audio Works shirt and showed me magazines of the product and how much they went for. I wasn't convinced about any of it until he mentioned that I'd be getting a warranty and receipts for everything. I asked him where they were located and he said that they had a warehouse in Charlotte North Carolina.

I paid 500 for one of the sound systems and the two tower speakers went home and connected it all. The complete system is priced for about "$9,000" and it sounds like a $100 system if that. I wanted to return it immediately so I called the number I was given numerous times for two days and got no answer. I tried one last time the third day and got an answer.

I spoke to a Matt and told him that some delivery people sold me these speakers and I didn't like how they sound. I wanted a simple return and asked if I could just come in and return the product but Matt said he doesn't deal with the public. I asked where he was located but he didn't want to tell me. I did a little research and found out where the warehouse is located but am not sure what else I can do from here.

You buy a 9K set of speakers from a guy who approaches you at a Gas Station for $500 and expected it to be legitimate????

If the company is a legitmate company you were probably scammed by someone who was using their name. If this is the case think of it as a very expensive lesson learned as those people have moved on.
