Dreamfinders, LLC If you consider building with Dream Finders, PLEASE make sure your job is secure. My wife and I were building a home with Dreamfinders. I suddenly, un-expectedly, lost my job. Even though Dreamfinders sold the home immediately, they kept our ENTIRE deposit. Close to $5,000 in hard earned cash. Did you have a finance contingency in your Purchase and Sale contract? Most of the real estate contracts do have a finance contingency. What that means to you is that you would not be able to qualify for a mortgage without income and once you lost your job, you lost your income (typically) so you would get your deposit back. Check your contract. Then take the builder to small claims court to get your $5k back.
