This Company hot buisiness market ripped me off just like many people; I signed for a home business for the only charged of $1.95 and a week later they charged my card for $81.32 when I contacted them for the refund they refused to give it to me what they said is that the $1.95 was only for one week. that after that if I dont cancel I will be charged the $81.32 but that actually does not say in any place I just signed because $1.95 was nothing to give it a try; but wind up paying $83.00 dollars for nothing. I called my bank and I explained to them they were going to helped me out but they realized that this is a foreign company and they couldn't do anything. I believe this company is in africa, Kenia because my bank statement has the abraviation KNA that stand for Kenia. I hope many people read this report and help them not to get rip off.

*EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back into your bank account that someone wrongfully takes it from you!

EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back!

HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO:

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.

According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.

If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.

Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!

DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.

And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.

Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth.

If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

Wrong. YOU screwed up.

You, like every, single, other person who gets fished in by that absurd $1.95 price tag, completely and utterly failed to do just a bit of poking around on the site, being so hot to trot to get your hands on what you envisioned as bags of near-free cash, to find the "TERMS" link at the bottom of the first page.

I went to the site in question, and it's truly a "by log in only" site, however, there are so many of these "$1.95 CD FREE TRIAL" sites growing like mushrooms all over the net, that even though I do not gamble in any way, shape or form, I'd actually wager that once you got onto the site that originally offered this wonderful product that if you scrolled down to the bottom you would have seen the same link to the terms that's seen on every one of these sites.

If you had then bothered to check that out, you would have seen something like this:

9. Grant Help Center 7 Day Free Trial
A. User agrees to be charged by Grant Funding Express after 7 days of ordering the FREE CD in the amount of $49.95 for access to the Grant Help Center. The first day of the trial is the date of order. No refunds will be given for failure to use the requested and/or provided services.
B. The user will continue to be billed for $49.95 each month there after unless the user contacts Grant Funding Express using our Contact Form or calls us at 1-888-662-8762. (see 10E)
C. If the user cancels their 7 day FREE trial to the Grant Help Center before the 7 trial days are up, the user will not be billed $49.95 or any charges thereafter.
E. To cancel the 7 Day FREE trial the user will need to contact us before midnight of the 7th day or they cancel cancel by visiting www.GrantHelpOrder.com
G. We reserve the right to make changes to pricing at anytime. Please revisit these term and conditions regularly.

See what happened there? That $1.95 has now become $1.95 + $49.95. Just for good measure, the site that the above came from adds yet another service on top of that as soon as you agree to receive the stupid CD that tacks on yet another $29.95. Do the math.

And I have no doubt whatsoever that a variation of the above language was freely available on the site you went to, because all these sites use the same basic template. Every last one of them I've been to as listed here on the ROR.

Do you really think any company is going to be so stupid as to bankrupt themselves by offering a CD that's only $1.95? And out of that $1.95 has to come shipping and handling plus the employees to work the mailroom to send that product, plus the employees to man the many boiler room phones to take customer inquiries and complaints, plus pay for the server hosting, space and bandwidth to splash their trash on the web?

Do you really think $1.95 per unit is actually going to pay for all that overhead? Not a chance. The business would be dead before it ever really began. That's not why people start companies, right? Sooooo... there must be another cost behind that to keep them in business. One look at the "terms", and you'd see it in all it's horrific glory.

Yet the $1.95 is all you saw and all you'd let yourself see because it was "easy money", right? Truth of the matter is, but for just a bit more digging and research, you scammed yourself.
