I received a message on SKYPE informing me of a WINDOWS scan update notification.  I followed the link, http://www.updatesm.org, which performed a "scan" of my computer, then informed me that spyware of viruses had been found and recommended erasing all affected files.  I clicked on the "erase all" and was taken to a payment/order page for "Windows Patch Software".  Since I have purchased this type of package from Microsoft before, I submitted my debit card info and received a confirmation.  The ID and passcode showed as "invalid".  I tried contacting the customer service site for the company and it took me to a dead-end at a Fedora Test Page.  At this point,  I knew I'd been scammed.  I immediately contacted my bank to stop the payment and to cancel my debit card.  Please be aware that it is unneccessary to purchase any windows updates or patches.
