Drive Financial Services Refusal to speak to management and refusal to defer a one time payment to end of my note due to medical purposes Dallas Texas
I believe it is important to pay your bills and have been paying my car notes on time from 5/2003 until I became ill in 2007. I became ill in April 2007 and had to have surgery and informed drive that I had just had surgery 4/23/2007 and needed to defer one payment to the end of my note. I have used other auto lending companies in the past and am aware that this service is available to help customers when these types of situtations occurrs. When I requested this service be provided to me through a Drive Financial customer service representative, I was told that Drive Financial services does not provided it's customers deferred payments. I felt that this customer service representative was being untruthful so after speaking with her I hung up and called Drive financial services back again. I then spoke to another Drive financial services customer service representative who was a man. I again asked if I could have my payment for the month deferred to the end of my car note due to being off from work due to having surgery. He told me that Drive financial services does provide deferments but suggested that I refinance my vehicle with my credit union to get my car note lowered. I told him that I didn't want my car note lowered, that I just needed a little time to get well and go back to work so that I can continue to make my regular car note payments.
Again nicely he suggested to me to contact my credit union for refinancing my vehicle. Thereafter I became two months behind in my car note and on a daily basis I received a automated phone call from Drive financial services to my place of employment and home. Todate, 11/9/2007 because I am still one month behind on my car note, I again called Drive Financial Services and requested a deferred payment for one month and was told rudely that because other people don't pay their notes, only a few deferments are provided and all of the approved deferrments have been issued for the month. I then asked to speak to a manager and was rudley told that she didn';t think that I needed a manager that she has resolved my concern already. I then asked the representative are you refusing to let me speak to a manager, her response was again I don't think you need to speak to a manager, I am well capible of handling your concern and even stated that she was not playing games.
Todate, 11/9/07 I am still one month behind on my car note. I also requested my illness information be placed on my account so when Drive Financal Services reports it on my credit it will be documented but I know that's not going to happen. Someone needs to put this company and it's customer service people in check and there should be something a customer can do to speak with management if a complaint is reported. This company should not have the right to mistreat customers at any time.

Ma'am, kudos to you for being such a good paying customer for so long a time...
So what I'm about to tell you, you may not like very much... Since you have been paying so well on your car note and for so long a time, your balance on your vehicle is probably not very large and therefore you do not owe the company a lot of money. What you were told was correct about the deferments... Most all of the deferments were gone for the month by the 4th of Nov. I guess people were getting an early start for the holidays, but for the most part our customers who are 60 and 90 days past due are the ones we use these on the most, that and large balances, anything 15k and up.
But there is good news... You may be eligible for a remodification of your loan... Call and ask to speak to a branch manager about this... See how much your balance is and how many payments you have left on the life of the loan...
