Drive Time DT Credit Corp ripoff, car constantly breaks down, interest so high I owe more than its worth and can't trade in Tampa Florida
I went through a divorce a few years ago and suffered credit problems resulting from it. I was amazed when this company offered to put me in a car for $600 down. Then before signing the papers the required me to come up with more money.
Soon after taking the car I noticed hesitating and the engine light going on and off. They said their was no warranty but I can take it to their mechanics and make payments on whatever was wrong.
I've owned the car for 1 year. My ERG tube, alternator, battery, exhaust tube, radiator, fan, and finally this week my transmission have went out. In addition my ignition is currently drilled out because it evidently is faultly but ford wants about $300 to fix it which I dont have.
I bought the car for around 11,500 and found that I owe 10,300 a year later. The only assistance they have offered is to defer payments. That makes them more money at the end.
I am a single mom working hard to build my credit back up. I need a vehicle to maintain my job, I have no money to fix the transmission, I can't trade it in. What do I do?
