Please! Please! Please! Stay away from Driver's Auto Repair!

On 12/19/12, my husband took our mini-van to Driver's auto Briar Forest location,to say our State emission inspection was due,but the check engine light was on,on the mini-van.Diagnosis at this time revealed a p0455 error code-large evap leak.

I called the location and spoke with a rep.Victor.He drew up an estimate of $1,999.00,which included repairs and parts that had nothing to do with error code we were receiving at the time .Victor and i were on the phone for about 30minutes going back and forth about his estimate.I said all I needed at this time was repairs to take care of my State emission inspection. He will put me on hold for 2minutes intervals saying He had to speak with this manager or that manager. He finally ended at $500-to cover parts and labour.

I went to collect my mini-van that evening and alas! the check engine light was gone.so I asked them to do the inspection, but Victor said I had to "drive 50miles to rebooth the  engines computer" to pass the  State inspection. He also stated that my belt was replaced because it broke while they were carring out repairs on my mini-van.when I started my car to leave,my belt squealed terribly.which it did not do before.

On 12/24/12,the check engine light was back on.This time ,I met another rep.,Alex.He says"Ma'am"we are so sorry, please bring the mini-van back to us,and we will take care of the problem" .I left my mini-van at this location from 01/10/13 till 01/17/13.

On the day I went to pick my mini-van up, Alex was there to say I had to replace my battery, and that the battery was the reason why the van's computer system was not recognizing the repairs they had done on the van.so I paid $140.00, for the new battery. So I picked the mini-van up on the 17th with the instructions "Ma'am put 50more miles on your mini-van and come back for the State inspection".

Alas! on the 01/20/13 the check engine light was back on.This time,I decided to speak with a superior rep. who advised me to take my van to the Company's Cinco Ranch location.

On 01/28/13,after 2hours of "rigorous diagnostics" at the Cinco Ranch location,I was advised by a rep. Brian, that my car was giving a P0455 code, large evap leak.(the same code it gave the very first time) .I pointed that out to the rep. and He said that repairs were actually carried out but my van's "pcm"was failing to recognise the repairs and  I had to replace the minoi-van's "pcm" which will cost  $933.62 which covers part and labor.I declined. I called the superior rep. I spoke with before and he promised to "look into the matter".

On 01/08/13 I took my van back to the Briar forest location as I was not contacted on the matter. The rep.Alex said I should leave the van at the location for further repairs. Before I left,I stated that I had to pick up the van at 2.30PM for school run.

At 1.30PM,I called the location to ask if they were finished with the repairs. I spoke with Alex who says "Ma'am you were advised at the Cinco Ranch location to change the pcm of your van and since you declined,we can not do anything about your minivan.

I said to him," I came into your repair shop to say I needed to do all repairs to pass the State emission test,7weeks and 2days later and $XYZ spent you are diagnosing the same error code as the first time and asking me to spend more money?that's unacceptable I demand a refund".

He went on to say " Ma'am you are not getting a refund.you have argued with everybody,...". I interrupted him saying that was rude.He said He did not think so.So I said come pick me up with the company's shuttle car.And he says "the shuttle car is not here and I have 5 oil changes to do right now.My husband had to walk 3miles to go get the van.

Behold! the company's shuttlle car was parked in front of the location when my husband got there. At that point,I called a superior rep.at the company's Humble,TX location, who stated, "Ma'am,I understand your frustration at this time and I promise to investigate the matter. He further went on to take my name and contact number.its is now 3days and 6 and a half hours later.

i have been set back $509 for repairs
                                  $140 for new battery
$40   for gas to test drive car
Cost of renting a minivan for 8days when mine was at the repair shop
                                  a squealing belt
and  Driver's Auto Repair has still not resolved the initial error code they diagnosed on the very first day.

I have written to the customer care department of the Company to no avail.

My advise is stay far away from this Company's repair locations as much as you can. They are out to rip you off your money!
