I went to Drivetime to buy a car after the transmission went out in the car I had.  After having been out of work for over a year and a half my credit was shot and they said they could work with me.  I knew the car I chose was over priced, ($4000 over blue book), but they said they would warranty the car for three years.  I bought the car, drove it home and parked it in my drive way.  The very next morning I got in the car and, it would not start.  I called a friend and had him come over to jump start the car.  It would not take a charge.

I called the Drivetime dealership and explained the problem to them.  I expected them to be surprised and eager to help me resolve the issue with my new purchase.  Instead they told me to "call the warranty company, there was nothing they could or would do".  One day after selling me a car that was defective they claimed that they no longer had any obligation to me at all.  In fact they said that if I had driven out of their parking lot and car died and would not start, it would not be their problem.



I told them that I wanted my money back and that they could come and get their piece of junk car.  Then suddenly they were willing to get involved.  They sent a tow truck out to get the car and said they would have my money back to me in about five days.  I paid cash and now I have to wait almost a week to get my money back.

I have been a professional manager for over thirty years.  I have dealt with more issues with customers than I can count.  In each situation I tried to resolve any issues and "make it right".  Drivetime seems to feel that once they have your money thier job is done.  I have never in my life been treated with such indifference and callousness by a company that I have done business with.  I find it outrageous that a company that operates this way is allowed to be licensed to do business anywhere in the United States. 

Never, ever to business with these scam artists.  If you do you will regret it.
