I was one day late on my vehicle payment. I made the payment one day late & called with confirmation. The same day, my wife and I ate lunch at Pizza Hut. When we were finished with lunch and headed into the parking lot to our vehicle, it was gone. They repossessed it without our knowledge even though the payment had been made. We were stranded without a vehicle. When I contacted Drive Time, they were extremely rude and unwilling to work with us or refund our payment.

Looks Like It Was A "RIPOFF"!

#2Consumer Comment

Sun, September 20, 2015

Did you notice the name of this excellent website?  Its called "Ripoff Report".  The typical ripoff happens when we as consumers do business with a merchant for product or service, they take our money and provide us with the product or service, right?  When that entity fails to provide that product or service, a "ripoff" has occurred.  If we do business with an outstanding entity with no history of ripping off others, we feel confident because we are in good hands.  If, on the other hand, we are doing business with an entity which has some sort of bad reputation, then we may start getting a little nervous about our transaction.  Of course, there's ways to check on some entity's reputation.  Do you see where I'm going here?  You were absolutely perfect in placing your report of a ripoff here because indeed there was a said "ripoff".

Lets dig deeper, shall we?

You went to this place to buy a car.  Once the decision was reached, they checked YOUR credit reputation.  They found out YOU have a self-developed track record of RIPPING OFF other creditors by NOT paying your bills on time.  How do I know that?  Its obvious.  If you had a reputation of making on-time payments, you would have been financed by a bank with much lower APR.  As such, they knew who and what they were dealing with but they gave you a chance anyway.  As time went on, YOU CONTINUED with the failure to pay as you promised to do.  "Late" is a word which does not have a "quantity" attached to it.  If the payment is due on the 15th, as soon as it turns midnight on the 16th and the payment is late.  Of course, if you've been late multiple times with them, the reputation gets worse and worse and they do a repo to protect their interests.

So I must praise you for your choice of venues for exposing still another RIPOFF in this society and coming forth so willingly to tell all of us HOW YOU RIPPED OFF still another creditor in your quest of being a serial deadbeat.

In summary, I'm sure you are mighty upset at this world of ripoffs we live in.  If the idea should cross your mind that I must work for them, don't waste the effort because I'll tell you right now, I don't!  So, enjoy the bus and all the walking.  I'm sure it will work wonders with your physical condition!
