Complaint Review: DS Rentco Saban's

I recently rented a car from Saban's to visit my mother in New Mexico for my birthday, as I was returning home the wire mesh in the tire came apart. I put the donut on and finished driving home. They told me when I returned the car that they had to look at the tire before my contract was final. I called the next day to see what was going to happen and they told me the person I needed to talk to just left and that I should call back the next day, Friday, before 4pm. I called at 3pm and again they told me that person had left at 2pm. Today, 9/16/04 I got my account statement and it said I payed $370 to Saban's ... initially they said it would be $189 for the three day weekend.

I called them and asked them about it, they said I hit a curb, I replied that there was no way that I hit the curb. I said something about me having to pay because of there shotty tire and he called me an ____ hole and hung up. I called a minute later and talked to another guy and he said that I had to pay for the damage of the tire because it says so in the contract. The contract states "You will be fully responsible for all damage due to the running of tires in a flattened condition or due to any curb damage. I explained to him that a)the tire didn't end up flat and b) i was on the highway so how could I hit a curb. Of course I was a little heated, he called me an ___hole then said some unrepeatable words.
