I was a victim of Katrina I live in Atlanta Ga I needed a home built in New Orleans, but because i lived in Atlanta and my land was in New Orleans my husband and I couldnt be there to oversee the work and all the fraud going on with the contractors taking advantage of people we choose to purchase a manufacture home. After doing what I thought was research on several compaines my husband and I choose to go with dsh housing. Well I called Quality Wholesale Homes spoke with Toshi who was very helpful and answered our questions, I felt confident that we had made a good choice.

I even asked if there would be a problem getting us qualitified, I was told if I has a good down payment it wouldn be a problem to get us financed. I also told Toshi that is was in bankruptcy at the time he still told me they had a finance department to help us. Toshi got me set up on the web site to look at there information and selection of housing. we choose a house for $59,000 . I was told I need to put $5,000 down to hold the price of that house. I had information emailed and faxed to me to set up a draft from my checking acct.
After the $5,000 came out I was mailed a package to started slection paint, carpet flooring lights bathtubs. etc to design the house. Then I was switched over to Ron I communicated with Ron for 2 months then Ron was gone now I am working with Chris, I asked what was going on I keep being switched I was told they were no longer with the company. I finishing designing the house with the paint, tile siding and etc. The house went fron $59,000 to $75,000. By september Chris was gone. know would say what happen to the employees. Now I am working with Dawn who was going to set up the foundation work with Baker foundations to do the foundation work.
work.
Well after going back and forth with Dawn and Toshi about how everything was going I go a phone call in March because I wanted to be in my home for June, Ron Henning need $60,000 to complete the work so the house can be delivered in time for my move in June. The papers was sent the have a 2nd draft come from my checking acct. I got a call from Brock Henning in April that my house was ready to de delivered and did I have the foundation read. I told Ron that his company was setting this up with baker foundation to do my foundation work, well it didnt get done. Now I am upset I have a House and no foundation. Baker Foundation was never contacted .

Everyone I have been working with was gone. When I call for Brock Henning the President of the company he is never in the office. He wouldnt return my calls I leave message after message, before I gave them $60,000 I would get calls back in a timely manner, after the $60,000 it was very hard to speak to anyone in the office.

I get a call from Brock Henning, I inform I dont have the money for the foundation and Ii need to get financed. He gave my number to Yvette Synder
to get me financed. The rated were crazy. I tried a couple of lenders myself my husband was approved but the bank wanted the house delivered so it can be appraised. I had Brock to speak with the lender she told me he was rude and was not working with her. He also told her he could sell the dame house any time he wanted too and hung up on her.

I tried to get my money back first it was no storage fee now he was to charge me a storage fee and I he states you may get $30,000 back and if i get an attorney I may get less then that. He starting talking to me like i was a peice of trash. I told him to talk to me like that you have my $65,000 tied up and your company didn do any of the things the said to me when we frist started.

I have gave up my job, I had given the landlord his 2 months notice, I am stressed out behind this I dont have anything to show for my $65,000. I had to rent a uhal to bring my things to New Orleans and I have 2 storages I pay monthly, I had to rent another aptment. My lease is up in March and I still dont have a house. I dont know where I am going to live when my lease is up. If Brock would have sent the house to be appraised the bank could have paid dsh housing and I could be paying the loan back instead of rent.

I feel I have been taken advanatage of I have not been treated the same before I gave them my money I have been swept under the rug . Whate to customer service. This company just was a misrepresentation of what the company offers

Thank you

I cannot help but notice that when I copy and paste the two comments processed on 3/6/2009 that it takes me to QWHOMES.com It appears these are statements written in their testimonials section and I would have to surmise that someone has simply logged into ripoff report, created fake user names and pasted these statements in an effort to "dilute" the truth.

Dont be fooled by this attempt to show you some positive feedback which could be who knows how old. This is unfortunately somewhat common on these types of consumer report websites. Perhaps this is simply another example of the caliber and integrity of this company.

If you have any experiences with DSH Quality Wholesale Homes QWH FWH FactoryWholesale Homes Peritus Devon Howard Brock Henning or Dave Higbee please post them here so that potential purchasers can have a clear view of this company.

We are sending this letter to highlight the exceptional experience we have had with Quality Wholesale Homes. We have purchased five homes from QWH and have found that Bob Benson, Mark Gibson and Ellen Homontowski have truly gone above and beyond to help us through all stages of our purchase. They have recommended and partnered closely with a local engineering firm to draw up plans for a full basement which we will be setting our homes on. They worked with the factory to provide us a special snow load of 170 lbs, which is required for the mountain area where we will be building. This increased snow load is unheard of in the industry, yet QWH was able to make it happen for us! They have helped us source and negotiate with outside vendors to ensure we get the best prices for delivery and set up. They have provided us with special options we need because we are building in an area with no permanent power and water. They even are having special stone for our fireplace shipped from one factory to another to ensure we get the exact fireplace we want. This team is truly outstanding! We look forward to completing these five homes and to continuing this business relationship into the future.

I would like to commend you on the quality of your product and the service you have provided so far in helping me to accomplish my goal of building my first manufactured home. I have worked with your representative Brock Henning and he has been most helpful and has a great deal of knowledge of your homes. My first home will be done soon and I have purchased two more lots so I will be able to begin the second one soon. I'm looking forward to continuing to work with your company and Mr. Henning as I fell factory built homes are the future of the housing industry.

#6Consumer Suggestion

I have spent a long while compiling information on all of the above mentioned business names. I am familiar with customer complaints as well as insider information. The business(s) are owned by Devon Howard. The company they utilize is Fleetwood. More on these companies can be found at mfdhousing.com and complaintsboard.com

First of all it is important to note that this company has actually ordered legitimate homes for folks and they have also delivered the homes and folks live in these homes. The company requires a deposit to "lock in" their pricing. The reality is that sales people are paid a large portion of their commission once they obtain the deposit. If you are a Cash buyer or have financing already arranged you will likely get a home, albeit the set up, site work, delivery, warranty work etc will be an absolute nightmare because these folks sub it all out or require you to handle it and they put you in touch with all the subs. Basically....you buy the home and learn as you go working with contractors that HOPEFULLY know what they are doing. If they dont, well I wouldnt expect much from the company you bought the home from. Call Fleetwood and ask for this business's (DSH Housing Group or Quality Wholesale Homes) Customer satisfaction rating. The Better Business Bureau shows a LARGE number of complaints but dont be fooled if they are rated satisfactory, this only means they have responded to the complaints NOT that they have resolved them.

Here is what appears to be their MAIN PREY!!! Folks who have bad credit are "easy pickings" for them. They simply tell you they have a company "Peritus Financial" who will fix your credit if you put a deposit down with "DSH" The salespeople might tell you it may only take 3 months in order to entice you into putting down a deposit but once you are enrolled you find the time frame could drag on over years!!! (FYI they state it is a fully refundable deposit but after reading the back of one of their contracts I noticed their refund policy looks more like a "give salespeople a way to say its refundable" policy. The reality is they can keep the bulk of your money even if you cancel within a couple of days and ALL of it if you wait much longer. EVEN if you put "contingent on financing" on the agreement they still have loopholes to keep your money...READ CAREFULLY! Additionally Peritus appears to maintain an office in the same location as the salespeople. There are enough reputable dealers in your area that IF they deal in Fleetwood (so you are comparing apples to apples) and you present them the price that these folks give you that they will probably match it and provide you with a better quality of local service.
