I was contacted by DSI Financial on Friday, 1-29-05 and offered their plan. I was told that I would not have to pay the upfront setup fee because I was current with all my cards. I indicated I wanted to check on the company and call back; a supervisor, Karen Harrington at extension AC105, was pleasant and advised me of their website and the BBB phone in Florida. She also reviewed the company's legal problem in Washington.

Today (Monday, 2-1-05)I spoke again with Ms. Harrington who said that I would need to pay them $549.00 via a credit card and that this amount would be refunded if they could guarantee me a $5000 savings in interest payments within 30 days. She explained that they are able to "threaten" to transfer my balances to other (DSI?? accounts) and realize interest rates of between 3.9 and 6.9 percent. She said she needed to call me in order to process the data via her computer and have things recorded and set up in Washington. I asked that she call back in 30 minutes as I wished to consult with my wife. She said she would.

My wife checked this site and we read the posted complaints. I again contacted the BBB in Florida and talked to a person as the posted BBB report is favorable to DSI Financial. I told the official of the complaints on the web; he indicated that in the last 3 years there have been a total of 151 complaints and that all were resolved to the satisfaction of the consumer.

Therefore, it is imperative that you all file complaints with www.betterbusinessbureausoutheastflorida.org for satisfaction.
Also note that the attorney general of Florida has initiated an investigation against the company (see www.myfloridalegal.com).

My wife and I thank you all for helping us avoid a BIG mistake. Take action and file your complaint with the BBB in Florida. Good luck.
