So I saw q post on a group I'm in on Facebook about "making fast cash" posted by a woman, she stated in the post "if you have a driveable car you're eligible to make quick money" so of course being as broke as I am I respond asking what I would need to do. She responds with an email to message "dubmagazinepromoagent9@gmail.com" so I send a message asking what's it all about and I get this message back " It is very easy to participate No Application fees required. How it works Here's the basic premise of the "paid to drive" concept: DUB SHOW TOUR MAGAZINE seeks people - regular citizens, not only professional drivers to go about their normal routine as they usually do, only with a big advert for " DUB SHOW TOUR MAGAZINE " plastered on your car. The ads are typically vinyl decals, also known as "auto wraps," that almost seem to be painted on the vehicle, and which will cover any portion of your car's exterior Surface. What does the company get out of this type of ad strategy? Lots of exposure and awareness. The auto wraps tend to be colorful and eye-catching and attract lots of attention. Plus, it's a form of advertising with a captive audience, meaning people who are stuck in traffic can't avoid seeing the wrapped car beside them. This program will last for 3 months and the minimum period you can participate is 1 month You will be compensated with a $400 (Four hundred dollars per Week), which is essentially a "rental" payment for letting our company use the space. DUB SHOW TOUR MAGAZINE shall provide experts that would handle the advert placement on your car. You will receive your 1st week payment of $400 (Four hundred dollars) in form of check for accepting to carry this advert on your car and other weekly payments will also be delivered at your address weekly. The following information below will be needed Full Name: Age: Occupation: Make of car/ year: Full Physical address to post the check: city: State: Zip code: Mobile number : Email Address: We shall be contacting you as soon as we receive these information. Note: Our company wraps will only be on your side doors and will not damage your car paint when it is removed at the end of your contract. DUB SHOW TOUR MAGAZINE looks forward to working with you Sincerely, kristen. DUB SHOW TOUR MAGAZINE (c) 2015 All rights Reserved." OK, sounds good to me, right? So after going back and forth with the person asking questions getting short responses a few weeks later I get a (faulty) check in the mail for $1,690 like woah that's a lot of money but doesn't seem real, like the check is on normal printing paper colored blue with no security stamps or anything like that like it just has to be fake and I'm not THAT dumb so of course I look up the address where it came from which was "23450 Newhall Ave SPC 115 Newhall, California 91321" which ended up being a mobile home park like ok wtf also it says the package shipped from "Lima Pallet Company, 214 Neurbrecht Rd Lima, Oh" lol too obvious what would a PALLET company have anything to do with this? Then I get an email from them " Hello, How are you today? What is your development with the check you received? Have you deposited it into your account so you can withdraw the funds immediately and then proceed to sending the wrap artist her money. Have you made the deposit yet? We need to know your development with the check. Get back to me soonest. Thanks" Sketchy huh? Why would they want ME to pay the agent isn't that their job if they're a big time company I mean they should have payroll right? Ha So I start questioning the person I had been emailing telling them I need proof that it is legitimate and they keep sending me the same two emails and are literally urging me to send the money to the agent. "You don't have to be bothered, the ongoing wrap promo is real and we have met with all legal rights and terms. Be rest assured, the check with you is good and 100 percent legitimate. It will go through your bank once you make the deposit." Like it seems to me that this person barely knows English. Anyway, I looked further into it to make sure it was a scam or not and decided to try and contact Dub Magazine directly and I go to their website and right under the "Contact us" link I see "Fraud Warning" ah, here we go.... Its basically a warning about the scam so I didn't get as far as getting ripped off but I was d**n close
