Complaint Review: Dukes tire Pros

Dukes tire Pros no responsibility taken after damaging tire on my automobile, very disrespectful wilmington North Carolina

This is a business in my community I use to enjoy visiting to have work done on a few of my vehicles. Mainly tire installation, roatation and balancing. On my last visit I took my customized lifted pickup truck in to Dukes Tire Pros to have my first 3k mile rotation and balancing done. I dropped it off and waited for a phone call as to when it was finished and ready to pick up. Upon 30 minutes to closing I decided to call and see if my truck was ready. They said it was not but would be ready at 5:00 when they closed. 

Once I arrived I checked over the truck and noticed that one of the front tires had major thumb size chunks missing around half of the outside of the tire. I questioned this with the sales person and was taken outside with a mechainc that had prefomed the service. He advised me that he had a difficult time menuvering my truck becuase it was so large and manualk transmission.  He apologized for the damage he had done when removing my truck from the garage bay and walked back inside.

I proceded to look for the owner but he or his wife were gone for the day so I paid for the service and had to wait til the next day to contact them about my damage.  I tried for 4 days to contact the owner of the business and had no luck. Eventually I had to deal with the owmers wife who seems to be running the business.  I brought my vehicle back to have it looked at by her (Tracey) and she to was surprised by the amount of damage done.   I had to explain my story to her in the parking lot as to which she had the mechanic that had done the damage come over and look also. He claimed to both of us that he did not do that damage nor was the tire damaged when it left his hands a week ago.  In hines sight i should have documented the incident some how wether via video or voice and the time of the accident but this was not something I expected to happen from a place that i trust will be careful with my vehicle. The mechanic then explained that I should have left specific notes when dropping off my vehicle to be serviced that the truck had cleancre issues. Even though he still claims he did not do the damage. I explained that I didnt feel i had to tell an expert in his field to be careful with my vehicle.

After some minutes of further disscussion I was told by the owners wife that she would contact me as soon as she could look to see how much and availabilty on a new tire was. Last i looked the tire retailed for $750. (toyo mt 37x13.50x24)

I waited a little over 24 hours and never heard back so I decided to call back to the tire shop and talk to the owners wife.  She explained how she didnt feel compeled to give and assistance to my issue after yesterdays conversation.  She then continued how she felt no obligation to help cover any cost of a new tire, nor a refund for the service I paid.  She continued a conversation about how this is how business goes and I should ubderstand as a local busness owner. I stated that I would take some blame for this incident and would like to split the cost of a new tire three ways with I, the owner, and the mechainc that did the damage. She explained that she would have to talk to the mechanic before deducting from his pay and call me back the next business day before noon with some kind of agreement to this issue.  I very politlly acknowledged and said I will be awaiting your call.

At this point I have not been contacted and the tire shop does not want to resolve this issue. I feel like I have been mistreated and dissrespected as a customer.  In the small town we live in we as busniess owners look after each other but this one business I have delt with would rather ignore and write off my issue of damage tire.

I work very hard for the nice things I have and I feel like this business did not put the effort in that they are known for.
