Dumbo Moving And Storage Took My Property Brooklyn New York
I'm being relocated temporarily, and the managing agent of my building David Fuhrer hired Dumbo. I gave them a sewing machine to put in their truck. I made the mistake of thinking that they were reliable and could be trusted. When we arrived at the location they never brought the machine up to the apartment. WHERE IS MY SEWING MACHINE !! I don't appreciate being ripped off.

I'm makeing a slight change to my review of Dumbo Moving. about the sewing machine. I was inaccurate in thinking they'd kept it. I did find it. As for anything else, nothing has changed. I'm still missing a box. They were holding on to my air conditioner. It was like pulling teeth to get it back
They did cause damage to the top of my stove end table, and box spring. Who in their right mind secures something using tape? You cover something in blankets, then possibly use tape over the blankets.
They couldn't understand why I would give them a negative review, perhaps if they'd shown care with my belongings, I wouldn't have felt the need to review them..
This industry is unregulated. Those of us who have to move are vulnerable and have no choice, we are easily taken advantage of by unscrupulous individules. It is very easy for someone in this business to take advantage of someone inexperienced and vulnerable.
Any mistakes that I made previously were during a time when I was under more stress the anyone should have been subjected to, were acknowleged, and were completely understandable given the circumstances.
I now have the added burden to oversee in any future move the boxes and furniture loaded on to and unloaded off of the truck, and a long 12 block walk to and from each location.
They are vindictive. Hire Dumbo Moving and Storage at your own risk.

As I said I was being temporarily relocated. The managing agent of my building hired Dumbo. I eventually found my sewing machine. There is more to the story. On February 15 Dumbo moved more of my things. I made sure I told them what things I wanted to go. The next day I noticed that there was a box missing, an air conditioner. I contacted Dumbo, but received no satisfaction. Although I didn't hire them, I still have a valid complaint, since they are holding on to my property. They also damaged the top of my stove and end table. Since this move is temporary, the likely hood that they will be used again gives them the opportunity to do further damage, as well as keep ripping me off. I'd like to see that this doesn't happen. I'd like to mitigate all of this by having them return my air conditioner. The managing agent who arranged the move is responsible for what happened. Unfortunately I have no recourse. They're all Con artists.
