I ENDED UP WITH THIS COMPANY BECAUSE I CHOSE TO USE NATIONWIDE RELOCATION SERVICES. THE SUB OUT THEIR MOVERS. I ENDED UP WITH DUNTARA MOVERS. THIS IS AN AWFUL COMPANY!! THEY WERE A DAY LATE THEN HOURS LATE FROM THE TIME I WAS TOLD. WOULD NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONES. ENDED UP CHARGING US 1500 MORE THAN WHAT WE WERE TOLD. OF COURSE WE ARE TOLD THIS AFTER THEY HAD OUR STUFF!! I SIGNED A PAPERS THAT HAD TO BE SIGNED BEFORE THEY LOADED UP OUR STUFF. THEN THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME COPIES OF THE PAPERS. WHEN THEY FINALLY ARRIVED AT OUR NEW PLACE. THEY REFUSED TO UNLOAD UNLESS THEY WERE PAID IN FULL IN CASH!! I CALLED THE COPS. THEY CAME AND I WAS INFORMED IT'S A CIVIL MATTER, NOTHING THEY COULD DO. SEVERAL THINGS WERE DAMAGED. REFUSED TO PAY FOR ANY OF THE DAMAGES. NO ANSWERS WHEN I CALLED THE COMPANY. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND NATIONWIDE RELOCATION!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY. THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!!

All paperwork is provided to the customer prior to loading the truck so the customers are well aware of the terms and conditions they are about to enter into. In regards to the weighing of the truck, every customer has the right to view the weights of the truck if arrangements have been made prior to the loading and delivery. Drivers get their trucks weighed prior to arrival at residence so they can begin working and loading right away. If the company knows prior to arrival that a customer wants to view the weights we will make every effort for them.

I have read your rebullte on this from Duntara, and I just want you to know that having your clients sign something before getting the job done is totally Unprofessional. Things should be laid out in front of the client so that they know what they are getting into. I demanded to be at the wiegh in before the pick up and then again after they loaded my belongings. However I was NEVER told how much each box that they told me they had to re-pack, was $25.00 ior so and then one of the large items that your company packed ended up getting broken anyways.

Nationwide Relocation is a Broker

Duntara Moving & Storage is extremely sorry that this client was un-aware of the fact that they contracted with a broker to perform the 'over the phone' estimate for their relocation. It is unfortunate that this client was not informed by the broker that the amount due was an estimate based on every conversation being done over the phone.
Duntara Moving & Storage is an independent carrier that receives shipments from this broker from time to time. After investigating this file it is documented that the truck broke down in transit and per the documents that governed their move, we are not responsible for Mechanical Breakdowns as it is out of our control. The file also indicates that a claims form was never received by this customer for damages that were mentioned in their statement below.
Duntara Moving & Storage prides themselves on excellent customer service and wish that this customer contact the office in order for the company to have the opportunity to make this customer more at ease with their previous relocation.

The delivery was made on January 5, 2009 and the delivery window as per the signed agreement ended on January 8, 2009. The customer had a non binding estimate, which was discussed and confirmed with customer prior to loading. The original pickup was for 76 pieces, which ended up being 79 pieces. The original weight was estimated based on customer information, but ended up being 1,834 pounds heavier. The customer requested a re-weigh and we accomodated this request and the original weight and re-weigh were identical. The payment option available to all of our customers is cash, Postal Money Order or Bank Wire Transfer - this is stated on the Bill of Lading (contract) and several other pertinent paperwork, of which the customer signed and received copies. In addition, the customer received a package titled "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move". By Bill of Lading, all payment must be made prior to unloading the truck, which is signed off by the customer prior to loading.

If necessary, we can document the above facts by paperwork signed by the customer both prior to loading and prior to unloading.
