DVDLegacy - Lorsay Sham Internet Storefront takes money without shipping items Still operating despite thousands of complaints Internet
Purchased a DVD boxset from this company on 2/20/2008 through Ebay. Paid immediately on checkout through Paypal. They never sent any kind of shipping confirmation so approximately 2 weeks later I sent them an e-mail inquiring whether or not the item had been shipped.
Received a form letter reply stating item had been shipped but could take up to 25 business days to arrive. The e-mail also stated that they do not keep tracking numbers (although they require you to purchase insurance).
This in itself seems fishy to me as USPS insured items have delivery confirmation and special "article number" for tracking items and making insurance claims if an item is lost of damaged. If you do not keep a record of this number you would not be able to make a claim and therefore insurance would be useless.
After the 25 business days had passed without receiving the item I e-mailed them again receiving the same form letter response. Ebay has a deadline for filing disputes (60 days) so a few days before this deadline I filed a dispute.
The dispute process stretched out over a few weeks with them saying wait a few days more several times before finally offering me a refund. Two weeks after being offered a refund I inquired as to when I would receive it and was told their refund department was backed up but that I should receive a refund within a few business days.
Several weeks later I still have no item, no refund and they do not respond to e-mails. I'm out $83.20 with no hope of recovering my money. Their 25 business days shipping policy insured that I waited like a lemming until after the Paypal 45 day Buyer Protection expired.
This company works hard to hide its identity from customers. It provides no physical mailing address or phone numbers to customers. Your only means of contact is an email address.
Before you buy anything from DVDLegacy, carefully check their feedback on Ebay, Amazon.com and consumer review sites. You will be shocked by the amount of complaints they have racked up.
