I worked as a Government Defense Contractor Overseas during 2006-2007. in the Middle East. I was put in a very remote isolated site. During this time I was exposed to extreme sexual harassment, discrimination, wage discrimination, retaliation and another very serious situation. I contacted the hotline overseas to notify the company of what had happened and I also talked to a company investigator. During this time, March 2007, there was an incident in which I was exposed to diesel jet fuel that was put in my vehicle for three days.

This exposure made me so sick that I had to go to the hospital an hour away for three days. I was unable to breathe, coughing up blood, etc. After I came home to the US I filed another report here about this incident. I have yet to have anyone do anything to help me. I just recently was able to obtain my medical records from the Middle East on this incident. I also have have been sick with, chronic bronchitis, and extreme fatigue etc since I've been back in the US. I was told that the Defense Base Act was for people like me and I would have a case. Again, Nothing was done to help me. I have tried to get the AIG insurance company to investigate and I've talked with the adjuster several times. Nothing has happened. I recently called again and they claim they still don't have enough doctor's reports to support the accident. The overseas doctor's reports state that this incident was reported and I was very sick as a result of the exposure. They tried to get other information but the incident was covered up. Whether this was intentional or an accident, the company has yet to make any attempts to discipline those responsible. The company even attempted to cover the incident up as it was a result of the sexual harassment I endured while I was working and living overseas. I could have died as a result of this incident and the company will not send me to a doctor to check forsensics in my blood for toxic substances. I have only been able to see a regular doctor one time to get medication. This is a very serious situation for me as I suffer from the fall out effects. Breathing jet fuel is not something that is condusive to human life and I just want to know if I will experience adverse effects in the future, such as rare cancers etc . I have also been afraid for my life, regarding this incident. I would like some help if there is anyone out there that can help me.

I was hired for just above soldier's pay to help with the war efforts and this definately wasn't what I signed up for - trying to help my country.

I worked in Iraq and was injured on the job. AIG outright refused to pay workman's comp. I had to hire an attorney, and finally after 13 months of negotiating, I got paid what was due to me.

After filing this report, I received a letter from the Dept. of Labor. This letter addressed the issues of my complaint. I am finally relieved that someone was listening after all these months. I was advised to find an attorney to represent me so I am contacting a law firm in Houston that does Defense work. They are willing to help me. I am happy that my situation is finally going to resolution. I have also learned that another man in Texas has filed a lawsuit with the same companies that I have been dealing with. I would like to talk to this man as he has experienced some of the same circumstances that I have. I feel this situation is extremely important as loss of life or permanent accidental loss of health is not acceptable under any circumstances. My fellow comrades in this war have enough to worry about like staying alive without all the drama of incidents like this. My goal is the same and that goal is to keep my health in check and make sure my fellow soldiers and comrades remain safe from these types of incidents. My hope is that no one would have to suffer from an incident like this again.
