Complaint Review: E.C.M Advertising

Elmer Meider is a hack. He charges an outrageous amount of money for his graphic design and misrepresents himself as a web designer. My company contracted him to design a web site for our upcoming seminar. First, after we sent him our files and description, he sat on them and didn't produce any work. When we discovered this he did a hurried job and made very obvious mistakes. Primarily he tried to upload our copy as an image so that it wasn't searchable or indexable on the internet. We made him change that, which he did, but keep in mind he charges $100 an hour and charges his clients for his mistakes he should have never made in the first place. Then, on our speakers page, he made a ridiculously long page that people would have to scroll thru instead of indexing each speakers name. Again, he charged us for fixing this, when the mistake should have never happened. The final straw was our registration page. He left this blank for a ridiculously long time, which held up all of our marketing and that's when we discovered he didn't know how to write the code to make fill in fields like the one I'm typing in right now. Further, he didn't know how to make them required fields. Then he only listed the price on the page after one submits all of their information making it difficult for anyone to find out how much the seminar costs. He should have never presented himself as a web designer. He was merely trying to get away with using a template to create a web site and it looked horrible and didn't function well. We've had to pay him almost $4,000 for a 6 page website!!! When I complained that I didn't think this was fair, his response was that if I didn't like it to never use him again. Trust me we will never and I hope that people see this cause he is truly an unprofessional person. We paid him all the money owed (even though we were ripped off) and as of this date still haven't received our workable files in order to fix the problem. So as it stands we have errors on our page we can't fix. I would love to sue him if were up to me, but he's too small for us to waste more of our time and money!! Don't use this hack. He will ruin your project.
