I just signed up for Dish Network and today I found an unauthorized charge on my checking account for $19.05 for E-Club Satellite Protection.

I called the number provided by my bank (877-313-2582 and after holding for about 15 mins I got someone on the phone. When I told her that I had been charged $19.05 without authorization by the company she said, "what is the phone number on your account?" I asked if she meant my Dish Network account and she said yes.

She claims she is cancelling my account for E-Club today and will refund the 19.05 (credit to show w/in 72 business hours) but we'll see.

She did acknowledge that this comes from Dish Network. She said that when I first called to sign up (which I really didn't call dish network - I called a marketing group that was selling for them) I was asked about Satellite protection. I vaugely remember being asked but I do know that I would have declined it. She said that the charge results in that inital salesperson filling out the paperwork saying that you agreed to the E-Club membership.

Hopefully I'll get my credit. Based on the other reports from this site I'm not too optimistic.
