Initially, I spoke to Michelle who was very nice. She made me feel comfortable and reassured me that all my needs would be met. I asked her several times for confirmation on several issues.  For example, I needed my couch disassembled and reassembled. She assured me that this was a service done by them and also stated this service in the contract. I made it clear that moving from a co-op to a condo required that specific restrictions were to be followed e.g., move could only take place between 8am to 4/5pm, Monday through Friday. No holidays or weekends allowed.  I was also reassured that the total cost for moving out and moving in, including a two week storage fee would be one thousand dollars with the exception that I would be charged a fee should their men go over 4/5 hours. in addition, I would be reimbursed for time unused in storage etc.  fragile items had to be packed by the movers if I wanted to be covered for damage.

A lot of finger pointing occurred, along with you said, I said.  Management was difficult to reach.  Day original move was to,take place never happened because management said that they couldn't reach me.  The day had been confirmed earlier that week (Aug 29). I had problems with my phone and did not receive their  call to confirmuntil after the fact.  Regardless, I had confirmed the day and time earlier in the week.  I then had to schedule for the following day.  Men were supposed to be at the apartment between 8-9am. They showed up,at 10:30am.  They complained right away about inconvenience of elevator, where they had to bring the items out and parking.  The movers  also complained about their low/poor salary and relied on tips to help their salary.  I served them soda and water in addition to mine and my husband's physical labor.  We helped carry boxes, broke down furniture, wrap objects, packed etc. to make the move the process along quicker. We had to be finished by 5pm.  They had to be stopped at 7:30pm.  As a result, they were not finished, but tried rushing, thereby being careless with my belongings.  I was charged. Fee of 200 dollars for their going over the 5pm time frame.  Furthermore, I was told that they do not disassemble furniture.  A manager by the name of John came over and gave me the name of someone who provided this service, but I had to pay him $100 in cash because the company did not offer this service.  Once I moved into my new apartment, I had to pay another $100 to have it put back together.

Items were placed in storage for less than two weeks.  When I tried to schedule the move from storage to my new apartment, I was put off by several days, Lthough I had discussed the move with John on the same day I was moving out of my co-op - plenty of time to schedule me on the day a I wanted.  Instead I was put off for Sept 4th, day after Labor Day. My husband took off from work waiting for the movers to come.  This move was confirmed several times to avoid previous problems.  They never came.  As management explained their mean had celebrated over the long weekend and did not get to work on time.  We were told that they were still loading the truck at 3:30pm.  Due to their having to be out of my building be 4 pm, we had no choice but to cancel and reschedule for the following day.  I then had to take a day off from a new job.  Again, the men showed up late, we were charged for their labor the previous day, and fees that were unexpected, since I was reassured that the thousand dollars was going to cover my move.

Management was difficult with little compromise.  Instead, I was constantly put on the defensive because of their poor pragmatic skills, being blamed for things that went wrong, told I was a liar etc.  my husband had to be constantly involved because the females speaking to me we're unable to work with me. In the meantime, I found out that they have problems with all their customers as I found out too late via emails sent in by other customers.  I wound up spending double of what was expected plus some e.g., approximately $2,200 dollars. They again went over the time limit, although management knew that another man was required.  Management claimed that I did not give them all my information, even though I went through each room and told them all that I had e.g., I was clear in that I had about 150 boxes to move, not counting furniture and fragile pieces.  They claim that I told them 10 boxes.  How do you move a home with only ten boxes?  The 10 boxes was what I was told I may need for items that were left to pack.
