Paid for services rendered for relocation from Saint Paul, Minnesota to Albany, New York. Final charge exceeded intial estimate of $1000.00. I paid a total of $ 1613.24. Estimate based at $ 4.00 a cubic foot.

Pick up was made at storage unit in Minnesota on 15 Nov 02 for delivery on 3 Dec 02 to New York. Upon delivery movers left refuse in the driveway...damaged wood paneling in attempt to move sofa to basement and damaged personal effects as well.

My partner made contact with the sales office and spoke with Alon Hamami and he stated he would send claim forms out asap.
We had to recontact almost a week later to receive those forms via our home fax number.

The claim was recieved and I submitted photos of damaged items , refuse left behind and photo of damaged paneling along with weights of said items.

After nearly three months I was offered a settlement of $321.60. The claim for the damaged paneling was denied for they stated" this damaged is alledged" .

I told Caroline Smith of Claims that this was not acceptable and she needs to reevaluate this claim. I was told that she needs to contact the driver and show him the photos.

I was also told that she would call me on 28 April 03. She failed to do so. I called the following monday as told she was out due to an illness.

I called again on 9 April 03 and spoke with her and was told I needed to wait until she tracks the driver for his commment.

To my dismay I have discovered that this company has at least 67 complaints with the Illinois Better Business Bureau over a three year period.

I also discovered that in 2001 the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has cited and fined this company for mulitple violations.

These include: Failure to have a valid tariff, Failing to participate in a dispute settlement program, Failing to process claims in a prescribed mannner, Failure to operate a charge plan with out a credit provision, Failure to relinguish possession of shipments upon payment of original non-binding contract plus 10 percent and failure to provide a bill of lading.

I already have submitted complaints to the BBB of Illinois, The Illinois State Attorney Generals Office, The FMCSA, and now you.

I would appreciate any assistance in this matter. I only seek to correct a wrong. As I see it this problem will not fade away and neither will I until resolved.
