When I moved to Denver, my wife and I had two cars with us which we registered with the toll road people so that we would be sure to get our toll bills promptly. Then we brought a third vehicle with us and forgot to notify them. So when I used this third vehicle on the toll road once, we got a bill that did not automatically debit from the account we had set up with the company. Okay, my mistake, so I called them to add the third vehicle to the account. Now everything should be okay, right? The tolls should debit from the $35 we paid them to fund our account.

Today I got a threatening letter from some bullsh*t law firm that we owe $25 in late fees. I know that if I tried to fight it, it would turn into $50, then $100 and so on. So I paid it to make it go away. But then I thought, "What if I get this notice again? What if they didn't actually link the third car to the account and I don't know about it until late fees are assessed?"

Can't check my account on the website. Guess what - It's down. I did a little online research and have learned that they are notorious for ripping people off by not fixing their broken system. I think its time for a big a** class action lawsuit. Who's in?!

I accuse the Express Toll Service Center in Denver, Colorado of illegal activities. They do not properly mark toll areas as such, so you would know you are traveling on a tollway. by neither placing proper signage nor marking the road. They then send you a bill saying that you traveled on their road unannounced to you. Despite the fact that the roads are not marked as toll roads, they attempt to impose their illegal action on the consumer. They are so bold as to actually add to the bill that not knowing you are on a tollway is not an excuse.

This is indeed a legitimate excuse when they don't mark the roads as tollways and is an illicit way of gathering illegitimate fees. They start increasing the amount owed on a non-contractual obligation to unreasonable levels of markup, from a $5.00 fee to an $80.00 fee, without oversight or any legitimate claim to such money in the beginning and far exceeding the base price.

I could charge a reasonable 3 times the charge as done in court and is legal, in which case the bill would be $15.00, a reasonable markup, but they exceed any legal definition of reasonable. If anyone ever files a class action lawsuit against these thugs, count me in.

Not sure if you were being serious or facetious, but I'm dealing withthe same thing.  I havent used the toll road in YEARS, and am being hit up for $40.

I am being charged for tolls on days when I KNOW I wasnt driving, because it was the week before Christmas, and then statement jumps from $12.10 to $39.50, with no explanation other than "previous unpaid balance"

How can this be legal?  I would absolutely join a class action suit.
