Earlier today, I decided I would purchase Battlefield 2:Complete Collection. The only option at the EA Store was digital delivery, so I opted for the extended download feature. I followed the instructions provided.

I downloaded the Download Manager and installed it running as Administrator. I then downloaded and installed my purchased game. There were no problems with this part of my experience.

My problem is when I try to launch the game using the links on the desktop (which are set to Windows XP Service Pack 2) I get a message telling me to log into the EA Download Manager to verify my ownership. After logging into the Download manager, I get the exact same message.

I have spent the better part of the day searching for a resolution for this issue. There is none that I can find. There is, however, a large number of people who have had the same issue with this EA Download Manager. When they contact support, they get a generic reply on what they can do to fix the problem - which has worked in some instances. I have already verified this generic response does not solve my problem.

I would like one of three things. First, I would accept a copy of the files on disc. Second, I will accept a solution for my problem - allowing me to play this game. Or, finally, I will accept a refund of my $40.00.

After spending an hour on the phone two days in a row, and sending a screenshot displaying there was no error on my end of the setup for gaming, I finally got my issue bumped up to the "actual" tech support and not a customer support rep.

It took two days for them to solve the problem. I am not sure if they modified my account, but it was a simple fix of logging into the EA.com site, clicking the "Add Additional Info" link and entering information. I tested the program and it seems to be working now.

So, for my frustration and $40, I can now finally play my game.
