Got an estimate of 1400 to 1800 from one eagle trans. store, called one closer to where my truck broke-down and they wanted to tow it in and check it out. They started at 3600 bucks and after I notified them of the other eagle stores price, they said they would match that price.
The first attemt at a repair lasted 3 months, when I noticed signs of a problem, I took it back in the second time and they said after an in-depth diagnostic check out,  there was not a problem.
One week later, tranny failed and I had them send the wrecker to pick it up. They said that a faulty ignition switch caused the tranny to go out and since it was an electrical problem not associated with the trans. it would cost more to fix it. I let them replace the switch for 188 dollars more and they said they would rebuild the tranny again under warranty.
They called on Saturday and said it was ready, come get it and bring cash just like the first time.
I drove it home and parked it in the driveway, about an hour later tried to start it to run to the store, it would not start so I raised the hood to look for a problem and found the trans. dip stick was laying across the engine, they failed to put it back in.
After checking battery cables etc. , I decided to try to shift it into neutral and try to start it, then back and forth from park to neutral a couple of times. After a couple attempts it finally worked and started, now there is definately something wrong with the switch or shifting lever. On the way to the store, I felt the trans. shifting back and forth from second to third gear constantly and would not stay in one gear or the other. Got it back home and parked it.
This morning there  is a large pool of trans. fluid on my driveway.  Now I have to take it for a fourth time. Not really trusting them, I would rather take it to a different shop but if I do Eagle will wash their hands of it and claim voided warranty and no responsiblity so I have to bend over and take it and hope they do not take more of my money.
