I was coerced into buying a Liberty from Earnhardt a couple weeks ago without air conditioning (it was supposedly the only manual they had). The salesman told me it would be no problem to install the air conditioning later and it would only cost about $800-900. I made the mistake of not including that in my 'deal', I am too trusting, learned my lesson there. But in my head I factored it into the 'good deal' I was getting which turned out not to be a good deal after all.

After trying several times to make an appointment to bring it in and them not calling me back, I called another dealer to take my business elsewhere. They informed me that air conditioning couldn't be installed in my model, that the radiator was too small.

After a lot of runaround and hassle, and persistence on my part - I jump ahead in my story to last week (I may fill in gaps later) - I finally got a quote and an appointment from Earnhardt to install air conditioning for $1750 (a lot more than I was told originally). I dropped the Liberty off and called later that day. That's when they informed me that they wouldn't (not couldn't) install air conditioning in my car, but suggested a 3rd party that would do it. That raised a huge red flag, if they won't install it there's got to be a reason. I'm sure it's so that if something happens they won't be responsible for it and my warranty will be void. And since the radiator is too small, my car will overheat more often and cause series engine damage, which I'm sure won't be covered by my warranty.

Thru this whole process I've felt mislead, lied to, unimportant, they don't return my calls promptly or get back to me when they say they will, I could go on and on. I've found out a lot of bad things about Earnhardt now that I bought my car. I wish I knew them before because I never would have bought a car from them. BUT THIS ISN't OVER YET!
