My 1995 Volkswagen Jetta broke down on the 51 and I was immediatly towed to Checkers and had a new battery and alternator installed. Two days later my car broke down again, it seemed that I had some sort of electrical short.

I was then convinced I should have the car taken to the dealership so it could be looked at by an "expert". The car was at Earnhardt Volkswagen for almost a week before I got it back.

The dealership informed me that my timing belt came off and that I would need a new one. This would require four hours of labor! When I checked another mechanic they told me it only takes two hours. The dealership then agreed to only charge me for three and a half hours, how nice!

They also informed me that my car would need a leak down test, but the woman who called me could not inform me of what the test was for. The test was declined.

All together, the bill would be a total of $425.

So when I finally got to pick up my car, the bill was handed to me and read $550! They had gone ahead and performed the leak down test and I was charged for it.

When I questioned this I was taken to a back office to meet with a man named Richard. He treated me like I did not have a clue and blamed my car trouble on a previous mechanic. I have never been treated so poorly or had such horrible service as I did at Earnhardt.

He also told me that Earnhardt was giving me a great deal and now my car would run great because it was done by Earnhardt.

They also never performed a diagnostic test to actually see what was wrong. And, as I was leaving told me my brakes were bad, even though I had not had a problem with them prior to coming to Earnhardt.

Less than 48 hours later my car broke down the exact same way it did the first time the day it was taken to Earnhardt. When I called them, they told me to come back and have a diagnostic test and they would look at it---why was this not done in the first place?!

Because Earnhardt is full of a bunch of BULL!
