Complaint Review: Earthlink

Earthlink FraudEarthlink My 90 year old mother with altzheimers is unable to use the internet. I cancelled Earthlink back in February and now they are coming after her for 192.00 in collections. At the time I cancelled her account a person named Christine said her bill would be void as of that phone call and I have the confirmation number to prove it. Trying to reach a person on the phone is like impossible. Redmond Washington

After several days of attempting to contact a person I was connected to a live chat with JackyC in India. He/She was of little help. I may as well have been talking to Mickey Mouse. Earthlink preys on the elderly and those with out other options I am affraid. It is pathetic they will take the last few dollars from a 90 year old woman with altzheimers. I would love to know who the creaps are who own this company.

Suggestion about Earthlink

The quickest way to resolve this type of issue is to submit a complaint with your Local Attorney Generals office as well as the GA Attorney General. Use Ripoff Report as a example off the 150+ complaints that have been submitted. I would suggest the AG submit an action for each case of what is in my opinion Fraud. Some people have been paying thousands of dollars (do a Google search on Earthlink AND cancel) as earthlink won't cancel their account. I may not be the brightest bulb in the box but if this isn't fraud what does the law say it is?
