DANGER!! Bait and Switch tactics!! 

 

Ordered the SONY XBR75X940C television online from their website: eastcoasttvs.com/Sony-LED-HDTV-p/xbr75x940c.htm

Recieved a call from a sales rep named "Michael" that told me that the televison I ordered was not a USA model and came with an 8-bit LCD screen, if I wanted the 10-bit USA model (which he says is dramatically different in quality) then I'd have to buy the USA model. He asked me to go to the website and type in "XBR75X940CUSA" which takes me to this site:

First off, the first website selling the TV for $6,199 says it's an Original Sony product, USA model. Traversing through the website to shop around, this is the only TV they show for the XBR75x940C. It's only when you punch in their secret code "XBR75X940CUSA" do you see the same exact television for a different price listed under the subdirectory of "product-p" on their website. I pointed this out to both "Michael" and later his manager "Jeff" which both had horrible attitudes, basically telling me to buy the more expensive one, they'll shave off some money for a discount, and i'm still getting a better deal than anywhere else like Best Buy; so if I don't like it then he's just going to cancel my order. As for the descrepencies on the website? "It's a mistake" and that they contract their website design out to someone else and will have to fix it. They told me they don't have to honor anything they say on there.

Buyer beware of these hustlers. They're rude, make you feel stupid for not taking their upsale if you're trying to decide on the spot what to do, and hate when you're doing online research while talking with them because you can call them on their BS. They will be ready and willing to belittle you and just cancel your order and hang up on you without skipping a beat. By far the worst customer experience i've ever had with any retailer.

Recieved a call from Tony. Totally fixed the situation and gave me the price as advertised. Tony is a stand up guy, he's the "Big Boss" there and cares about his customers personally. If you ever do business with them, make sure you talk to him directly.
