STATEMENT FROM EAST COAST WHOLESALES:

After reviewing this cast from 4 years ago i looked at all the records and this customer during his 60 day free part warranty wound up asking and receiving within 2 months 4 different shipments of parts. We did everything and gave him everything he asked for out of our pocket. Then when he received the 300+ dollars in free parts he rode the scooters for 2 more months putting him 60 days past the return warranty. He wanted to return the scooters which we would always override return warranty within reason, however him receiving many free parts on his request during 60 day warranty was so over the top on free parts that we could not then allow him to return for a full refund 2 months past warranty. We bent over backwards and paid for many free parts for this man, he was just one of those that did not matter how much you helped or gave him it was never enough.

NOW TO THE ORIGINAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED

----------------------------------

Me and my son have purchased the 49cc 2 Stroke GAS SCOOTER and have had nothing but problems. First when I got the thing the directions were in an extremely small font, unreadable and had so many errors. In other words they are useless. I had no clue what i was doing because they were so unclear. I brought the scooter to my friend who is a small engine repairer and he put it together nicely. I brought it back to my house and my son was driving it for about 3-4 days, and the pull start breaks. I got a replacement and everything worked fine for another 3 days. Next thing I know it just won't start. I replaced the spark plug and it barely started once, and it kept stalling. Then it just stopped starting. I brought it back to my friend and he fixed it back to working condition. He had to also replace 85% of the screws that he put on previously, because the engine rattles so much it unscrews most of the screws it has. Put it this way the gas tank kept unscrewing itself and i drove down the block with it dangling behind. I had to duck tape the screws. When I got it home it worked for a day. Then it stopped working again. I brought it to another guy closer to me that has been a mechanic for 35 years. He said he had never seen a worse piece of machinery in his life. Anyways he spent 4 days trying yo fix it and couldn't. Now I brought it to a third guy and he said it is going to cost more to fix than I even bought it for! He said never buy anything else from this guy EVER again he said it was the worst he has ever seen as well. Never will I buy anything that has an engine that was made in China. Let's go USA!

No refunds / returns

I bought two 4-stroke scooters and had lots of problems right out of the box. This company was notified and they insisted on sending me parts (as many as necessary to make me go away). The part service was prompt but I had too many problems with these scooters. - the same problem on both scooters (what are the odds of that?!)

After playing the back and forth game, I was refused when I offered to drive all the way to Myrtle Beach and return the scooters in person. The return rate is so low because they won't let you return. I eventually gave up and put the scooters in storage. The company had won the battle. >$1100 down the drain.

THANKS CHRIS U R A GREAT CUSTOMER!!

Chris you hit the nail on the head.  The 2 stroke scooter is a super chain saw on wheels.  You paid 300 dollars for a 35 mph motor on a 20 lb frame.  Of course it is going to vibrate.  For 150 more dollars you get our 4 stroke scooter and there is no vibration.  The phrase you get what you pay for is exactly true.  Chris you are part of the 99.9% of my great 82,000 customers over the last 12 years, but unfortuenately these ripoff reports allow the couple bad apples to vent for absolutely no reason and it is usually the guy who things he is buying a Porshe at 100k bucks, but instead he could only afford a 300 dollar 2 stroke scooter.  Anyways, enjoy ur scooter Chris you been an awesome customer.  Thanks again, Craig

We have sold over 82,000 of these scooters in the last 12 years and we get less then .5% returns, so the scooters work great, everyone loves them, but just like anything if you dont follow the 2 sets of instructions and tighten bolts and assemble correctly things will happen.   For 99.5% of america kids and adults around the great USA enjoy these scooters everyday and our feedback on ebay proves it. Thanks again buddy and check out 99.9% of america who love the scooters included our rental program of these scooters here in Myrtle Beach.  Here is the link http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=eastcoast_wholesales_llc&ftab=AllFeedback

Not for the mechanically challenged

I bought the exact same scooter (49 CC 2 cycle) and have put about 70 miles on it.  Yes it vibrates...as does ANY 2 stoke engine.  The setup was simple for anyone with a jr. high automotive class under their belt.  The item was sold NOT ready to run out of the box, but rather that there would be a little setup needed.  It took me a little longer to setup than advertised but I credit that to my rustiness with small engines.

To add....I did have one issue with the seat post upon delivery, and Craig sent me a replacement with 24 hours of me sending a picture...no questions asked.  These guys are great not only with value of product, but also with customer service.

If you have ever owned a chainsaw or string trimmer that was 2 stroke, you know how they vibrate and no amount of thread lock will keep them in place....you have to take responsibility for your own engine!

If you can't manage your own toys, go buy a razor scooter or a bicycle...the engine maintenance is much easier!

Craig...after 70 miles, you have got my business!

CUSTOMER MADE NO MENTION OF ANYTHING WRONG

#6REBUTTAL Owner of company

Sun, December 18, 2011

This customer abused his pull start and broke it.  He never read the instructions because instructions (BOTH SETS IN PERFECT ENGLISH) tell you how to use the pull start.  He ignored the instructions and he broke his pull start immediatly and called us and we shipped him new pull start.

Since he did not read the instructions on pull start i take it he did not read the rest of the 30 instructions so hence his problems.  We sell about 150 of these scooters a week and have been for the last 12 years.  We have less then 1% returns and less then .5% parts that have to ship out under waranty.  All parts we ship out are for customers like this who dont read instructions and wind up breaking something.

Anyways it is a great machine and a great seller, but if you dont read instructions you will have problems.  Our feedback speaks for itself with out 15,000 positives on ebay over the last 10+ years.  Here is the link to proove it.  http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=eastcoast_wholesales_llc&ftab=AllFeedback    Thanks for hearing the correct side of the story, not 1 angry guy who doesnt read instructions.  Thanks again. www.eastcoastwholesales.com
