Scammers, Butchers and Thieves at EASTCOASTOUTBOARD.com!!!!! in North Carolina

I sent my motor for their "rebuild" service and got scammed when my motor showed up butchered and JB welded by Eastcoastoutboard.com and it wouldn't even run!!  My motor had a cracked block which they never diagnosed while under their care for a "complete rebuild" and they charged me $4K and gave me a motor that was leaking water into the piston area and lasted 10 minutes before it locked up and threw a rod through the block!!! They installed my bleed lines backwards along with my firing order on the coils upside down which my local mechanic buddy fixed for me just to make it to the boat ramp for the first time after giving them thousands to screw up my motor. It came back missing bolts and water leaking out of it like a fountain when we finally got it running on the hose!! i wouldn't recommend them to anyone who wants reliability that's for sure!!! i sent a friend to them thinking they were professionals and he spent thousands with them and ended up buying a new motor after finally giving up trying to make his work too!! I called OUTBOARDREBUILD.COM and tried not to bash anyone as to get my problem remedied and Jimmy the owner of outboardrebuild.com took great care of me and got my motor running better than when I bought it NEW in 1991!! and for a lot less $$ too. While searching for a professional company to fix my nightmare that eastcoastoutboard.com had left with me I noticed that they had a similar website as Outboardrebuild.com....In conversation with Jimmy the owner of OutboardRebuild.com he verified that they (eastcoastoutboard.com) did copy his website all the way to the phone number!!! Hours and weeks were spent to design his website at outboardrebuild.com and eastcoastoutboard went straight from "the tree business" to "the boat business" overnight and began copying his website to the "T", check them both out!!! That was the first real sign of the word SCAMMERS!!!! Jimmy @ OutboardRebuild.com has been doing this his whole life, in fact, for three generations through his family and some "TREE" guy copied his website and eastcoastoutboard.com feeds his kids from a stolen business plan!!!! It seems that Jimmy's company has excellent testimonials all over the net and i hear more and more of the good service that they provide, I wish I would have taken my motor to them first!!!  STAY AWAY from EASTCOASTOUTBOARD.COM!!!!!

I too have had my engine rebuilt by Eastcoast Outboard and have nothing but praise for them. After rebuilding my motor it was returned to me and I forgot to add oil to the gas. They sent me papers saying to do so and their warranty does not cover it. Needless to say my engine lasted all of 5 minutes on the water. I called them back and after talking with them they said that they would rebuild it again for just parts. I delivered it to them and took my boat to them to install for me. Long trip but it was worth it. I at that time informed them of this report on their company and they were as shocked as I was. I was then shown a paper where Jimmy recieved the money to start his company for a percentage of ownership. He then decided not to pay. I also was shown where a man purchased a motor from outboardrebuild and wanted to pay for it on a credit card. Jimmy could not run a credit card so he called Eastcoast. They ran it sent him his money and 2 months later the gentelman is back charging the card for a motor he did not recieved. Jimmy paid some of it but not all of it back. His own kin warned the owners not to do business with him but he looked at the good in people. I met the families of these people and they are not the people that is described here. I  ask that you call and get references just as I did. These people are not trying to scam anyone if you have a problem with them work it out with them not trying to make someone else look good when you dont have all the answers. Also his employees are certified mechanics and after talking with them you will be impressed. I think what you are writing is to build up a company that is in conflict with your friends. I hope others see this as well. Thomas Laws.
