I am currently in the Military and when I was station in Maryland, before I left in 1997 I brought a double wide home from the above company. This company knew that the house was going to be setup in North Carolina. North Carolina has three wind zones which are one, two and three.

A wind zone is a number value that is assigned to a house for what winds that a house can withstand. North Carolina laws forbid a house of lower wind zone being moved into a higher wind zone unless it is modified. It was understood that I would put this house on land sometime in the future.

My house was moved on a Military installation where the rules are more flexible about the wind zones but this area is still a wind zone two. It was understood from the very beginning that this would not be the resting place for this house.

I was made aware that I had a wind zone one house the day the house was delivered in March 1997. I compliant to the above company but soon after that they stop returning my phone calls. I even had to go directly to Fleetwood to get things fixed that were not done that were in the contract.

I know that it was sometime a go that this has happen, but I was told by this company not to worry and that I would be able setup my house in Onslow County. Today I found out that was a lie that they told me. In order for the house to be moved, I have hire a structure engineer so that he or she can tell me what need to be modified to bring my house up to code. The costs of modifications are currently unknown.
